DEO direct deposit change delaying my payments - stuck in limbo for a week

So frustrated right now! I claimed my weeks last Thursday and my payment is still nowhere to be seen. I recently updated my direct deposit from Wells Fargo to Chase because my old account was getting hit with too many fees. The CONNECT system accepted the bank change with no errors, but now my payment seems stuck in limbo. My claim status shows 'processed' but nothing has hit my new account. Has anyone else experienced delays after changing their bank info? How long should I expect to wait before panicking? I've got rent due next week and this is really stressing me out.

The same EXACT thing happened to me in January! When you change your bank info, DEO automatically puts a 5-7 business day hold on payments for 'security purposes.' It's super annoying but they don't warn you about this anywhere on the website. Mine showed up on day 6. Hang tight!

Thank you for that info! I wish they'd tell you this when you make the change in CONNECT. Do you know if future payments will process normally or will there be a delay every time?

3 WEEKS?! That's insane! I've tried calling but can't get through. Just endless busy signals or it hangs up on me after the automated message.

When you update banking information, DEO has an internal fraud prevention process that automatically flags your account for review. This typically adds 5-7 business days to the payment processing time, but it only happens for the first payment after the change. After that, payments should resume their normal schedule as long as you continue claiming weeks properly. You should also verify a few things: 1. Make sure your new bank account number and routing number were entered correctly in CONNECT 2. Confirm your identity verification (ID.me) is still active and valid 3. Check if there are any fact-finding questions or pending issues in your account If you've waited more than 7 business days or see any pending issues, you'll need to speak with a DEO representative directly.

Thanks for the detailed info! I double-checked my banking info and it all looks correct. No pending issues showing in my account either. I guess I just need to wait a few more days. It's just scary when you're counting on the money.

I changed my bank info back in November and my payment went through in 2 days no problem. But then again I switched from Bank of America to SunTrust so maybe different banks have different processing times? Just saying not everyone has delays.

The timing can definitely vary. DEO's security protocols sometimes apply differently depending on factors like your claim history, whether you've changed banks before, and even the specific bank. Some claimants do get lucky with faster processing, but the official guidance is to allow for up to 7 business days.

If you absolutely need to get through to someone at DEO about this, try using Claimyr. I was in a similar situation last month (payment stuck after address change) and couldn't get through on the regular line for days. I used Claimyr (claimyr.com) and got connected to a live agent in about 25 minutes. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj The agent was able to verify my payment was in process and explained the security hold, which gave me peace of mind. Better than spending hours getting disconnected.

I dunno about these services. Shouldn't we be able to just reach DEO directly without paying more money when we're already broke and waiting for unemployment??! The whole system is ridiculous!

Just checked all my folders and don't see anything from DEO. My last email from them was just confirming I claimed my weeks. But good tip - I'll keep checking!

Besides what everyone else mentioned, check if your payment method accidentally got switched to the Way2Go debit card instead of direct deposit. Sometimes when you update banking info, the system glitches and reverts to the default card option. Happened to my cousin and she was checking her bank account for weeks while the money was sitting on a card she never activated.

I didn't even think of that! Just logged into CONNECT and checked - it still shows direct deposit as my payment method with my new bank info. But that's definitely something I'll keep in mind if this happens again.

One additional note - after the first payment goes through following your bank change, make sure your next claimed weeks don't have any issues. Sometimes there can be a cascade effect where the first delay triggers additional verification requirements. If you don't receive your payment by next Tuesday (which would be 7 business days), then you should definitely contact DEO directly to ensure there isn't something else going on with your claim.

Thank you! If I don't see anything by Tuesday, I'll try calling again. I really appreciate everyone's help and advice - feels good knowing I'm not the only one who's dealt with this!
