DEO CONNECT system keeps crashing during weekly claims - only completed 1 out of 2 weeks

Anyone else struggling with the CONNECT system today? I've been trying to claim my weeks since yesterday morning and it's been a nightmare!! I finally got ONE week submitted after trying for hours, but the system kept freezing when I tried to claim my second week. Today it's even worse - can't even get past the login screen without it timing out or giving me an error message. My benefits are already a week late and rent is due in 3 days. Is the system down for everyone or is it just my terrible luck? This is my first time having issues claiming weeks since I started unemployment in January.

yep, same here. been trying since 7am and keep getting the spinning wheel of death after logging in. typical DEO garbage, always breaks on claim days when people need it most

Ugh that makes me feel slightly better that it's not just me, but also worse because who knows when they'll fix it!! Did you try calling? I tried the main number twice but got disconnected both times.

The system is definitely having issues today. I was able to claim both weeks yesterday but it took almost 3 hours because it kept freezing. Try these tips: 1) Use Chrome in incognito mode, 2) Clear your browser cache completely, 3) Try very early morning (like 5am) or late night (after 10pm) when fewer people are on the system, 4) If it freezes, don't reload - wait at least 5 minutes as sometimes it's just slow. Also, take screenshots of any errors in case you need to prove you tried to claim on time.

Thank you so much for the advice! I'll definitely try the incognito mode trick tonight. Do you know if there's a penalty for claiming late if it's because their system isn't working? I'm so stressed about missing the claim window.

The DEO system has SERIOUS issues at the end of each month when everyone tries to claim at once. I had the EXACT same problem last month!!! Could only claim one week and then had to wait THREE DAYS before the system would let me claim the second week. And guess what? They didn't even backdate my payment even though it was THEIR fault! Make sure you document EVERYTHING - take screenshots, note the exact times you tried to log in, etc. The system is absolute TRASH and they never fix it properly.

This happens literally every month and DEO never does anything about it. I've learned to claim my weeks at like 4am on weekdays to avoid the system crashes. Their infrastructure can't handle the volume, especially on weekends. You won't be penalized if it's their system that's down, but good luck proving that without documentation.

If you're having trouble with the CONNECT system and need to speak with an actual DEO agent about your claim, I'd recommend trying Claimyr (claimyr.com). I was in the same position last month - system kept crashing, couldn't claim my weeks, and couldn't get through on the phone. Claimyr helped me get connected with a DEO agent in about 30 minutes instead of spending days trying to get through. They have a video showing how it works here: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj. The agent was able to manually process my claims when I couldn't access the system.

First time claimant here and I'm completely lost with the whole system. Is this normal? The CONNECT portal worked fine when I first applied 3 weeks ago but now I can't even log in. Getting error code UC-274. Will my claim be cancelled if I can't certify this week?

Don't worry, your claim won't be cancelled. Error UC-274 usually means the system is overloaded. You have 14 days from your claim date to certify for benefits, so you still have time. If you can't get through online, you can also try the alternative method of claiming by phone at 1-833-FL-APPLY (1-833-352-7759), but be warned that line is often busy too. Just keep trying both methods and document your attempts.

This happened to me today too. I got through on my second week but then it crashed and now says I haven't claimed any weeks even though I got a confirmation number for the first one! So frustrating!!!

Oh no! That sounds even worse than what happened to me. Did you get a screenshot of the confirmation number at least? I'm going to try the advice about using Chrome incognito mode tonight when hopefully less people are using the system.

The technical issues with CONNECT are unfortunately common, especially during high-volume periods. Here's what you need to know: 1) DEO can see timestamps of when you attempted to log in and claim, so they know when the system was inaccessible 2) Your claim window is technically 14 days, so you do have some buffer time 3) If you're still unable to claim after 48 hours, call the technical support line at 833-352-7759 and choose option 5, then 2 for technical issues 4) Document everything - screenshots, error codes, times you attempted access 5) If you miss your claim window due to verified system issues, DEO can backdate your claims The system tends to work better during off-peak hours (very early morning or late night on weekdays).

HAHAHA good luck getting through on that phone number! I called 47 TIMES last month during their "system maintenance" and never got a human. The only way I finally got help was going in person to CareerSource and having them call the special direct line they have.

Just FYI - CONNECT normally has maintenance periods on evenings and weekends. The official maintenance schedule is usually posted on their Twitter account (@FLDEO). Today there's no scheduled maintenance but they're probably experiencing high volume because of month-end claims. Try again tomorrow morning around 7:30am when the system resets.

Thank you for this info! I had no idea they posted the maintenance schedule on Twitter - I'll follow them now. Will definitely try again early tomorrow morning before everyone else gets on.

UPDATE: Finally got both weeks claimed! For anyone still struggling, I followed the advice to use Chrome incognito mode at 5am this morning and got through with no issues. The system was super fast compared to yesterday. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions!
