Confused about $1200 additional payment when claiming weeks on July 30th - will I get it?

I'm totally confused about whether I'll receive another $1200 payment when I claim my weeks on July 30th. My benefit weeks are running about two weeks behind schedule (not sure why). I've heard mixed things - someone in another thread said they got an extra payment, but the DEO website doesn't mention anything. I'm trying to budget for August rent and need to know if this money is coming or not. Has anyone who claims on bi-weekly schedule received this payment recently? The DEO call center is impossible to reach as usual...

ur not getting another $1200 payment, that was a one-time thing from last month. DEO stopped those special payments already. dont count on that money for rent

Thanks for the quick response. Are you 100% sure? I thought they were doing it for everyone who had active claims through end of July? This is so stressful trying to figure out.

There's a lot of confusion about this. To clarify: The $1200 supplemental payment program ended on July 15th, 2025. If your claim weeks include dates BEFORE July 15th, you should receive the supplement for those specific weeks only. The payment isn't based on when you claim - it's based on which weeks you're claiming. If your July 30th claim includes weeks from before the cutoff, you'll get the supplement for those qualifying weeks only.

That makes so much sense now! So since I'm claiming weeks from July 2-15, I should get one more supplement? My claim is always 2 weeks behind when I actually submit it.

Just to add to this excellent explanation - if you're claiming the week that includes July 15th, you'll likely get a prorated amount, not the full $1200. The system calculates it by day for partial weeks. So for that second week, expect around $600 (half) if the 15th was mid-week.

ARGH the confusion with DEO payments is MADDENING!!!! I'm in the exact same situation - my claim weeks are behind too and I STILL haven't gotten my $1200 from earlier weeks I claimed. The DEO website says NOTHING helpful about this, the phone lines are ALWAYS BUSY, and the emails never get answered. HOW are we supposed to know what's happening with our benefits?????

Iknow right?? I got my $1200 but my roommate didn't and we filed on the same day. Makes zero sense.

I thought that $1200 was part of a special federal program that ended months ago... are you guys talking about something different? I haven't gotten any extra payments with my regular unemployment since like February

You're thinking of the previous federal supplement. This is a new Florida-specific supplement program that started in June 2025 and runs for specific weeks in the summer. It's not well publicized but it's on page 3 of the Benefits Rights Information handbook if you look at the most recent version. They're not making it obvious because they don't want everyone applying.

I've been helping several people with this exact issue. The $1200 supplement program is date-specific. Here's what you need to know: 1. It covers claim weeks from June 15 - July 15, 2025 2. The payment processes 1-2 weeks AFTER you claim those weeks 3. You must have been eligible for at least $100 in regular benefits during those weeks 4. The DEO's phone system is completely overwhelmed with calls about this If you need to speak with a DEO agent to confirm your eligibility, I'd recommend using Claimyr (claimyr.com). I was in the same situation last week and spent days trying to reach someone until I found their service. They got me connected to a DEO agent in about 45 minutes. You can see how it works in their video demo: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj

This is incredibly helpful, thank you! I think I qualify based on what you're saying. I'll check out that Claimyr service if my payment doesn't show up after claiming. Appreciate the detailed breakdown.

I tried calling 37 TIMES yesterday and nothing but busy signals. Will look into that service because this is ridiculous!

btw if ur wondering why ur weeks r 2 weeks behind its bcuz florida makes u claim every 2 weeks but pays for the previous 2 weeks. so ur always claiming for weeks that already passed. thats just how the system works

That makes sense about the claiming schedule. Thanks for explaining that part!

Update for everyone following this thread: I just checked the DEO website and they've added a FAQ about the $1200 supplement. Official cutoff date was July 15th, and all qualifying payments should be issued by August 10th. If you claimed weeks that included days before July 15th and don't see the supplement by August 10th, you need to contact them directly.

Thank you for checking! This gives me a timeline to work with. I'll wait until after I claim on the 30th, and if I don't see the supplement by August 10th, I'll follow up with DEO.
