Tips for reaching EDD human rep? Automated system nightmare for paper form request

Hey guys, I'm having trouble getting through to EDD to request a paper form. I've been trying to call for days but can't get past the automated system. Anyone have any tips on how to actually speak with a human? This is so frustrating!

I found a way to solve EDD paper form request issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-5dmlEHgOc

I found a way to get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://claimyr.com

Wow, really? That sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😤

I know it sounds crazy, but I was desperate. It actually worked for me and saved me hours of frustration. Worth it IMO.

Guys, I think we need to start a petition or something. This is getting ridiculous. Who's with me? ✊

A petition could definitely bring more attention to the issue if enough people sign.

Claimyr is a valid option, and it does work for many people who are struggling to reach EDD representatives. The cost can be justified for those who value their time and need immediate assistance. However, it's important to explore all possibilities. For instance, phone calls during off-peak hours, using different communication channels like online chat or email, or even seeking help from local representatives could also be beneficial. Remember, the key is persistence and utilizing a combination of strategies to maximize your chances of success.

Online chat is hit or miss. I've had it disconnect on me multiple times 😑

I feel ya, buddy. EDD's phone system is like trying to navigate a maze blindfolded. Have you tried calling right when they open? Sometimes that works for me.

I second this suggestion! Calling just as they open has worked for me in the past.

Listen up, folks. I've been dealing with EDD for months now, and I've learned a few tricks. Here's what you need to do: 1. Call early in the morning, like 5 minutes before they open. Be ready to hit redial. 2. Use all the phone lines. They have different numbers for different issues. 3. If you get through the menu, stay on hold no matter what. I once waited 3 hours but finally got a person. 4. Be super nice to the rep when you get one. They deal with angry people all day. 5. Have all your info ready - claim number, SSN, everything. 6. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member. They can sometimes expedite things. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up!

I know, right? I wonder if they're just overwhelmed or if it's designed to be this difficult.

Have you considered going to an EDD office in person? Sometimes face-to-face is the way to go.

Do they even have offices open rn? I thought everything was online/phone only

Some offices are open now, but you need an appointment. Check their website for locations.

Have you tried emailing them? Sometimes that works better than calling. Just be prepared to wait a few days for a response.

Emailing can be slow, but at least you're guaranteed a written response and don't have to stay on hold.
