EDD phone lines always at 'full capacity' - How to actually reach a human?
Anyone else struggling to get through to EDD? I've been trying for days and it's always 'call volume at full capacity.' How are we supposed to get help when we can't even talk to a human? This is so frustrating!

Ugh, tell me about it! I've been trying for weeks. It's like they don't want us to get our benefits 🙄

Weeks? Try months! I've been at this since March. It's ridiculous how understaffed they are.

Same boat here. I'm starting to think they're doing this on purpose to save money 🤔

Omg that's insane! How are you surviving? I'm already struggling after just a few weeks ðŸ˜

I found a way to get through! There's this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that calls EDD for you, waits on hold, and then connects you when a real person picks up. It costs $20 but it actually works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. After weeks of trying, I finally got through and sorted out my claim. Worth every penny imo

Pro tip: try calling right when they open. I managed to get through once doing that, but it took like 20 attempts 😅

This is why we need to vote for better leadership. The whole system is broken and nobody seems to care about fixing it.

Preach! 🙌 But let's be real, they all make promises and nothing ever changes

Careful, this is how we end up with clowns in office. We need reform, not revolution.

Has anyone tried reaching out to their local representative? I've heard sometimes they can help push things through.

I did, got a generic response saying they'd 'look into it.' That was a month ago lol

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for the past 6 months: 1. Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if it feels hopeless. 2. Document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every online message. 3. Learn the lingo. Understanding terms like 'pending', 'disqualification', and 'appeal' can help. 4. Use their online portal as much as possible. Sometimes issues can be resolved there. 5. If you get through, be polite but firm. The person on the other end is probably overwhelmed too. 6. Consider using a paid service like others have mentioned if you're really stuck. 7. Reach out to local media if you have a particularly egregious case. Bad press can sometimes motivate action. Hang in there everyone. I know it's tough, but we're all in this together. 💪

This should be pinned at the top of the sub. Super helpful, thanks!

Great advice. Wish I'd known all this when I started my claim 😩

Anyone else notice how the system always seems to 'crash' right when you're about to certify? 🙄 It's like they're trolling us at this point.

I've given up tbh. Gonna focus on finding a new job instead of dealing with this bs. Good luck to everyone still trying!

Don't give up! That's what they want. Keep fighting for what you're owed!

Appreciate the encouragement, but my mental health comes first. This whole process is just too draining.
