EDD SDI Payments Stopped: Can't Reach Anyone Despite Doctor's Note - Help!
I've been trying to get through to EDD for weeks now and it's driving me crazy! No matter what time of day I call, it's always the same story - "we've reached our maximum call volume." I stopped getting my payments in March even though I have a doctor's note on file. Has anyone else been dealing with this? Any tips on how to actually talk to a human being there? I'm at my wit's end!

While tools like Claimyr can help, it's also essential to stay informed about other resources. EDD-related forums, social media groups, and even local news often share updates and new strategies. Remember to keep checking your online account and the official EDD website for the latest updates and tips.

I've heard mixed reviews about Claimyr. While $20 may seem steep to some, it's a small price to pay for the peace of mind and assurance that you'll eventually speak to an agent. But it's essential to weigh the pros and cons. If waiting for two hours to get a callback is manageable, it might be worth it. However, always ensure that the information you provide is protected and secure.

Welcome to the club, buddy. I've been in the same boat since February. It's like trying to win the lottery just to get someone on the phone. š¤”

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for the past 6 months: ā¢ Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if it feels hopeless. ā¢ Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and any correspondence. ā¢ Check your online account regularly for updates or new messages. ā¢ Make sure all your documents are up to date and properly submitted. ā¢ If you can't get through on the phone, try using their online contact form. ā¢ Consider reaching out to your local assembly member or state senator for help. ā¢ Join EDD-related Facebook groups or subreddits for more tips and support. Remember, you're not alone in this struggle. The system is overwhelmed, but don't give up!

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They sometimes can help expedite EDD issues.

I hadn't thought of that. How do I find out who my assembly member is?

Just google "[your city] assembly member". They usually have a contact form on their website for constituent services.

Has anyone else noticed that their online account doesn't match what the reps tell you on the phone (when you actually get through)? It's like the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing.

YES! This happened to me last month. The website said my claim was denied, but when I finally got through, they said it was approved. So confusing.

Anyone else feel like they're playing a game of chance every time they call EDD? It's like, will I get through today? Will I get a helpful rep or someone who just transfers me again? It's exhausting.

Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through.

Yeah, I've tried that. Even set my alarm for 7:55 AM to be ready. No luck š

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken.

Pro tip: if you have a complex issue, try to get transferred to a Tier 2 specialist. They have more authority to actually fix things.

How do you get transferred to a Tier 2? Just ask?

Ethan Clark
Yep, just explain that your issue is complex and ask if they can transfer you to a Tier 2 specialist. Sometimes they'll do it, sometimes not.

Has anyone tried faxing their documents instead of uploading them online? I heard that sometimes works better.

There are online fax services you can use. Might be worth a shot if nothing else is working.

I'm convinced EDD is run by a bunch of hamsters on wheels. That's the only explanation for how slow and inefficient they are. š¹
