EDD nightmare: Can't reach anyone about missing payments after doctor visit. Called 50+ times. Help!
Hey everyone, I've been having a nightmare trying to get through to EDD about some missing payments after seeing their doctor. Anyone else in the same boat? I've been calling like crazy, sometimes 40-50 times a day, and still can't get through. It's driving me insane! Any tips or tricks to actually speak with a human there?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I was in the exact same situation last month. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to reach them. Have you tried calling right when they open? That worked for me once, but it's still a crapshoot.

Pro tip: call at 7:59am and keep redialing until you get through. Sometimes works for me!

I heard they're more likely to pick up on Wednesdays for some reason. Might be worth a shot 🤷♂️

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Seems kinda steep for something that should be free...

I get the skepticism, but after wasting hours trying to get through, it was worth it for me. Saved me so much time and stress.

How long did it take for them to actually connect you?

It took about an hour and a half, but I didn't have to do anything. Just got a call when an agent was ready.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They sometimes have direct lines to EDD and can help push things through.

This whole system is a joke. How are we supposed to survive when we can't even get our benefits? The government needs to fix this ASAP! 😡

Preach! 🙌 It's like they forget we're real people with bills to pay.

Here's what worked for me after weeks of trying: 1. Call exactly at 8:01 AM 2. If you get the "too many callers" message, hang up and redial immediately 3. Keep doing this until you get into the queue 4. Once in the queue, DO NOT HANG UP no matter how long it takes 5. Have all your info ready when you finally get through It took me about 2 hours of redialing, but I finally got through. Good luck!

I'm in the same situation, been trying for weeks. Has anyone had luck with the online contact forms? I'm desperate at this point.

I tried those. Got a response after 3 weeks saying to call the number. Back to square one 🤦♂️

Pro tip: if you have a friend or family member who speaks another language, try calling the non-English lines. They usually have shorter wait times and the reps still speak English.

Isn't that kinda unethical tho?

I feel for you, OP. I was in the same boat last year. Took me 3 months to finally get my missing payments sorted. Hang in there!

I tried that last month. Waited in line for 4 hours only to be told I needed an appointment. Total waste of time.

Some offices are appointment-only now. Check their website before going!
