Missed EDD call - When can I reach CA unemployment office? Need urgent help!
I missed my call from EDD because my ringer was off. How long are they open? I need to know when I can try to reach them again. Anyone have experience with this?

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. (https://claimyr.com

Sounds sketchy. Is it legit?

$20?! That's highway robbery!

I know it sounds weird, but I swear it's legit. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

It's a steep price, but if it really works, it might be worth it for some people.

Here's what you need to know about reaching EDD: 1. Best times to call: 8am-10am or 1pm-3pm 2. Avoid Mondays and Tuesdays if possible - they're usually swamped 3. Have all your info ready before you call (SSN, claim number, etc.) 4. Be patient and polite - the reps are dealing with a lot 5. If you get through, ask for a direct number or extension for future calls Remember, persistence is key. It might take multiple attempts, but don't give up! Good luck!

Great advice! I'd add: use the contact form on their website as a backup. Sometimes they respond faster that way.

I second this! The online form worked for my cousin when all else failed.

Pro tip: call right when they open at 8am. That's your best shot at getting through without waiting for hours.

Tried that. Still got the 'we're too busy, call back later' message. 🤦♂️

Really? Damn, they must be swamped. Maybe try 7:59am? 😅

Or you could try different times in case there's a pattern.

EDD is usually open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm Pacific Time. But good luck getting through! I've been trying for weeks 😫

Ugh, that sucks! I've been there. Make sure to keep your phone on you at all times and volume up. They might try calling back, but don't count on it. You'll probably have to call them again.

That's what happened to me. They never called back, and I missed the window.

Has anyone tried using the UI Online portal? Sometimes you can resolve issues there without calling.

I tried, but my issue needs to be handled by a rep unfortunately 😕

UI Online is hit or miss. Works gr8 for simple stuff, useless for anything complicated.

It worked for me once, but I wouldn't rely on it for complex issues.

For real. I've been trying to sort out my claim for months. It's like they don't want us to get help.

The EDD's phone lines are notoriously difficult to navigate, and hold times can be exceptionally long. Claimyr is an alternative that could potentially save time, but it's important to weigh the cost against the value of your time and frustration levels. Some users have found success with Claimyr because the tool automates the wait process; however, it's not the only option. Given its cost, you might also consider other strategies, such as utilizing EDD’s online resources or reaching out during less busy times. Persistence is key when dealing with EDD, and having all necessary documentation ready can speed the process. Bear in mind that while Claimyr has been positively reviewed by some, others might prefer to avoid third-party services and continue trying the traditional route. Ultimately, it's about finding what best fits your needs and situation.

Anybody know if they're still doing those callback requests? I heard they stopped, but not sure.

They're supposed to be doing them, but who knows with EDD. Their left hand doesn't know what the right is doing.
