EDD payment issued text received but no Money Network card or check arrived - what now?

the first payment always takes longer cuz they have to mail the debit card. took like 14 days for mine to show up even tho the text came way earlier. check ur informed delivery on usps if u have it

This is completely normal for first-time claims. The Money Network debit card is sent separately from a different facility than your regular EDD mail. Here's the typical timeline: 1. Certification gets processed 2. Status changes to "paid" in UI Online 3. Payment notification text is sent 4. OMG this EXACT thing happened to me in January!!! I got so worried that someone had stolen my card from the mail because the EDD website showed PAID but I had nothing for like 2 weeks!!! The EDD is THE WORST at explaining this to people. The first payment always takes forever because they have to create and mail the stupid Money Network card. After you get the card though, future payments show up on it pretty much right after the text. DONT THROW AWAY THE ENVELOPE when it comes - there's an activation code inside you need!!

i had soemthing similar happen last yr but turns out they had my old address so the card got sent back!! check your address in the system ASAP. you might need to call and update it

Just to clarify something important - the new certification form you received is normal and unrelated to your payment issue. EDD sends these forms regularly because you need to certify for benefits every two weeks. Your husband should complete this form for his next certification period, either by mail or preferably online through UI Online. Regarding the payment: Once the Money Network card arrives, you have three options for receiving future payments: 1. Continue using the debit card 2. Set up direct deposit to your bank account 3. Request paper checks Direct deposit is generally fastest for future payments once set up. You can make this selection in the Money Network account after activating the card.

btw once u get the card u should move the money off it asap cuz those money network cards sometimes get frozen for random security checks and then ur stuck without ur $$$ for days ask me how i know lol
