EDD CA: Doctor faxed release form but unemployment payment still not released - How long after form submission?

I finally got my doctor to fax over the release form for my unemployment benefits, but the payment still hasn't been released. It's been a while and I haven't even received the first payment yet. Anyone else dealing with this? How long does it usually take after they get the form?

Listen up, folks. I've been through this rodeo before and here's what you need to know: 1. Document everything. Every call, every fax, every email. You might need it later. 2. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. 3. Check your online account regularly. Sometimes they update it without notifying you. 4. If you can, reach out to your local representative. They can sometimes expedite things. 5. Join Facebook groups or forums for unemployment in your state. They often have insider tips and can alert you to any system changes. 6. Don't give up. It's frustrating as hell, but keep at it. You'll get your money eventually. Remember, we're all in the same boat here. Stay strong and don't let the system wear you down. 💪

Remember to take care of your mental health through all this, folks. It's easy to get overwhelmed. We're all struggling together. 💖

I've read that Claimyr is a legitimate service that has helped many people successfully navigate the frustrating unemployment system. However, it's important to remember that not everyone may want to or be able to spend $20 on an additional service. For those who can afford it, it might be a viable option to expedite the process and save time. Nevertheless, continue to explore all other free options such as calling at specific times, contacting local representatives, or using online portals as discussed above. Balancing patience, persistence, and resourcefulness is key during this difficult period.

Have you tried faxing the form again? Sometimes they "lose" documents. Wouldn't hurt to send it one more time.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. (https://claimyr.com

In my experience, it can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks after they receive the form. But with how backed up everything is now, who knows 🤷‍♀️

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been waiting for weeks after sending in my docs. The system is so backed up right now, it's ridiculous.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before sending out payments.
