EDD: Months waiting for updated claim money, no documents to sign. What to do?

I've been waiting for months to receive money from my updated claim. My doctor sent in the new forms, but I haven't gotten anything to sign. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do when I finally get through to someone on the phone?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been in the same boat for weeks now. It's like they're purposely making it difficult for us to get our money. Have you tried calling them? It's a nightmare, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

Calling is the worst! I spent 3 hours on hold last week and then got disconnected. 🤬 This system is so broken.

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through in 20 minutes last time I tried that.

Yeah, I've tried calling a few times but no luck. It's so frustrating. I'll try the opening time trick, thanks!

Here's what you need to do: 1. Keep calling until you get through. It sucks, but it's necessary. 2. When you finally talk to someone, ask if they've received the updated forms from your doctor. 3. Make sure all your documents are on file and ask if they need anything else from you. 4. Get a timeline for when you'll receive the documents to sign. 5. If they can't give you clear answers, ask to speak with a supervisor. Don't give up! The squeaky wheel gets the grease in these situations.

This is solid advice. I'd add: take notes during the call, including the name of who you spoke to. It helps if you need to follow up later.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20? That's highway robbery! The government should make it easier to reach them without having to pay extra.

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho.

Can you explain more about how it works? Is it legit?

NeonNinja

Sure! It's an automated system that calls and navigates the phone tree for you. When a real person answers, it calls your phone and connects you. Totally legit, just saves you the hold time.

This happened to me last year. Turns out they had the wrong address on file, so all my documents were being sent to my old place. Double-check your contact info with them!

Oh wow, I hadn't even thought of that. I'll definitely check on this, thanks!

The whole system is a joke. They make it so hard on purpose so people just give up. Don't let them win! Keep pushing until you get what you're owed. 💪

Preach! 🙌 We need to demand better from our government. This is ridiculous.

Has anyone tried contacting their local representative about these issues? I've heard sometimes they can help push things along.

I did this! My state senator's office was actually super helpful. Took about 2 weeks, but they got things moving for me.

That's a great idea, I'll look into contacting my rep. Thanks for the suggestion!
