I heard theres a new bill being proposed to overhaul the entire EDD system. Cant come soon enough tbh
Okay, let me break this down for you based on my experience and what I've learned from dealing with EDD for way too long: 1. First, don't panic. Sometimes payments can be delayed for various reasons. 2. Double-check your certification: - Make sure you answered all questions correctly - Verify that you reported any income accurately - Check if you accidentally put in the wrong dates 3. Check your UI Online account: - Look for any new messages or notices - See if your claim status has changed - Verify your payment history to ensure there are no discrepancies 4. Identity verification: - EDD might need additional proof of identity - Check if you've received any requests for documents 5. Contacting EDD: - Try calling early in the morning (right when they open) - Use the online contact form if you can't get through by phone - Consider using a paid service like Claimyr if you're desperate (though it sucks we have to pay extra) 6. Last resort options: - Contact your local assembly member's office for help - File an appeal if you believe there's been a mistake Remember, the system is overwhelmed, so patience is key. But don't be afraid to be persistent if you need that money. Good luck!
Guys, I think we're all missing the bigger picture here. The whole system is designed to be frustrating so fewer people claim benefits. It's all part of the plan 👀
I had a similar issue last year. Turns out there was a glitch in their system. Keep calling and don't give up! Eventually, you'll get someone who can help.
I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the URL: https://claimyr.com
I've used Claimyr too, and while it does work, it's unfortunate that such a service is needed in the first place. Hopefully, EDD improves accessibility soon.

Has anyone tried applying for PUA instead of regular UI? I heard its easier to get approved for extensions that way.

Honestly, at this point, I've given up on EDD and started doing gig work. It's not ideal, but at least it's some income while I look for a permanent job. Maybe consider that as a backup plan?

•What kind of gig work are you doing? I've been thinking about trying that too.

•Mostly Uber Eats and DoorDash. It's flexible and you can start pretty quick. Just be aware of the wear and tear on your car if you go that route.
