EDD Nightmare: Denied Workers Comp, Can't Reach Anyone for Disability Benefits. Help!

I'm having trouble with my disability claim. It started as a workers comp claim but I was denied, so now I need to get regular disability benefits. I can't get through to anyone on the phone and there's no status update on the website. Has anyone else dealt with this? How did you manage to speak to a real person?

Quick question - did you appeal the workers comp denial? Sometimes that's faster than starting a new disability claim from scratch.

You should've received info about appealing with your denial notice. If not, check the workers comp board website. There's usually a deadline, so act fast!

EDD Login Error: ID Linked to Different Account & Missing Payment - Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble logging into my account. It says my ID number is being used for a different account. I'm also missing a payment - I've only received one so far. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to handle it?

have u tried turning it off and on again? lol jk jk 😂 but srsly, sometimes clearing your browser cache can help with login issues. worth a shot!

EDD PDL payments missing, can't apply for PFL. Help!

I filed a paper Pregnancy Disability Leave claim a few months ago. My doctor certified me for 6 weeks of leave, but I've only received two payments so far. I haven't been paid for the rest of my leave, which ended about a month ago. I also need to apply for Paid Family Leave under FMLA, but I can't because I haven't received the final PDL payments. I've been trying to reach EDD for weeks but can't get through to anyone. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get my missing payments and move forward with PFL?

I heard theres a new bill being proposed to overhaul the entire EDD system. Cant come soon enough tbh

PRO TIP: Call exactly at 8:01 AM when they open. Keep redialing if you get a busy signal. It took me 43 tries but I finally got through!

EDD sent wrong amount ($405 instead of $450) - Transposition error?

Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my unemployment check. It's supposed to be $450 for each week, but they sent me $405 instead. I think it's a transposition error. I haven't worked for the last two weeks, so it should definitely be the full amount. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to get this fixed quickly?

Have you considered that maybe there's a new deduction or tax withholding? $45 difference could be some kind of percentage taken out. Double-check your withholding settings on your EDD account.

idk if this helps, but I had a similar issue last year. Turned out it was because of some weird quarterly wage review thing. Might be worth asking about that when you finally get through to someone.

Hey everyone, I'm in a tough spot. My unemployment benefits just got cut off and I'm trying to figure out how to get them extended. I've been working for over 15 years and suddenly got laid off. Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold last week. Also, be super nice to the rep, even if youre frustrated. They deal with angry people all day and are more likely to help if youre pleasant.

Have you checked if youre eligible for any other types of assistance? Food stamps, rental assistance, etc? Might help tide you over while you sort this out
