I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. (https://claimyr.com
@profile 13 Yeah, you schedule a time slot. They call the EDD, navigate the menu, and wait on hold. When an agent picks up, they forward the call to your phone. It's pretty slick.
While Claimyr might be convenient, it's always wise to weigh the cost versus the benefit. For some, it might be worth it, especially if EDD communication delays are affecting finances.
I went thru this last month. Turns out it was a "system error" on their end. 🙄 Keep calling and don't give up! Once you get someone on the phone, they can usually fix it pretty quick.
The whole UI system needs a complete overhaul. It's not fit for purpose anymore. We should be writing to our representatives about this!
Hey OP, just a heads up - when you do get through, make sure you have all your docs ready. They'll probably ask for proof of your new address and maybe some ID verification stuff. Better to have it all on hand so you don't have to call back.
This might sound crazy, but has anyone tried faxing EDD? I remember reading somewhere that they still accept faxes and it might be faster than calling.
Plot twist: what if the EDD is actually run by a bunch of hamsters on wheels and that's why everything takes so long? 🐹💨
guys. i've been dealing with this for MONTHS. like since last year. its a total clown show 🤡 I've called hundreds of times, sent emails, even wrote a letter. nada. zilch. zero. I'm bout ready to give up tbh

•Old methods like faxing can sometimes bypass the digital backlog. It's worth considering if you're not making progress elsewhere.

Have you considered looking for part-time work? Might help bridge the gap until December. Just a thought!

•This! I started driving for Uber when my benefits ran out. It's not great, but it's something.

•Freelancing or gig work can sometimes fill the gap temporarily. Keep looking, something might click soon.
