Lost SDI appeal hearing letter - What to do when you don't know the time? (CA EDD)
I lost my letter about my disability insurance appeal hearing and now I don't know what time it's supposed to be today. Has anyone else been in this situation? What should I do? I'm freaking out because I really need this hearing to go well and I don't want to miss it. Any advice would be really appreciated!

Ugh, that sucks! I've been there before. Your best bet is to call the DI office ASAP and explain the situation. They should be able to give you the time and any other details you need. Don't panic, they deal with this stuff all the time.

Have you checked your email? Sometimes they send digital copies of important notices too. Might be worth a shot to search your inbox real quick.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://claimyr.com

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•$20? That's steep. Is it really worth it?

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta spend money to save time, ya know?

Pro tip: If you can't get through on the phone, try reaching out on social media. Sometimes their Twitter or Facebook team can help faster than the phone lines. Worth a shot!

Have you tried calling your local assemblymember's office? Sometimes they can help cut through the red tape and get info faster. Worth a shot if you're still stuck!

•Good luck! Let us know how it goes. The waiting game with these offices is the worst 😫

This is why I always take a picture of important documents with my phone as soon as I get them. Learned that lesson the hard way. 😅 Hope you get it sorted out!

If you're unfamiliar with Claimyr, it's a service that helps individuals connect with government agencies more efficiently by bypassing long hold times. While it's a paid service, many users find it worthwhile, especially when time is of the essence, like in your situation. However, it's important to weigh the cost against your needs and budget. While some people have had positive experiences using Claimyr, others might prefer to find alternative methods like reaching out to their local representatives or utilizing social media for faster responses. Always consider the options available and choose the one that aligns best with your situation. Good luck with your hearing, and remember that perseverance is key!

•Preach! 🙌 It's like they're trying to make it as difficult as possible. We're already dealing with health issues, we don't need this extra stress!

•For real tho. It's 2023, why can't they just text us this stuff? Or have a decent app? Smh

Here's what you need to do: 1. Keep trying the main DI office number. Be persistent! 2. Check your email and spam folder for any digital notices. 3. If you have an online account with the DI office, log in and check for any messages or appointment details. 4. If all else fails, show up to the office in person as early as possible. Explain your situation and they might be able to help you on the spot. 5. For future reference, always make copies or take pictures of important documents. Remember, stay calm and polite when dealing with the staff. Good luck!

•Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'm gonna keep trying the phone line for now, but if that doesn't work, I'll definitely head down there in person.

•This is solid advice. I'd add: if you go in person, bring any related documents you have. The more info you can provide, the better.
