EDD PDL payments missing, can't apply for PFL. Help!
I filed a paper Pregnancy Disability Leave claim a few months ago. My doctor certified me for 6 weeks of leave, but I've only received two payments so far. I haven't been paid for the rest of my leave, which ended about a month ago. I also need to apply for Paid Family Leave under FMLA, but I can't because I haven't received the final PDL payments. I've been trying to reach EDD for weeks but can't get through to anyone. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get my missing payments and move forward with PFL?

Ugh, I feel your pain! The EDD system is such a mess rn. I had a similar issue with my maternity leave payments. Have you tried faxing them? Sometimes that works better than calling.

•I haven't tried faxing yet. Do you have the fax number? And what kind of info should I include?

•Yeah, the fax number is on their website. Just send a letter explaining your situation, include your claim number, and maybe a copy of your doctor's certification. Good luck!

•Faxing in 2024? What is this, the stone age? 🦕 EDD needs to get with the times fr

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

•Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo

•I've used it twice now. It's a game changer for dealing with EDD. Just wish it wasn't necessary in the first place 🙄

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact EDD. 2. Write a detailed letter explaining your situation. Include dates, claim numbers, and any relevant info. 3. Send this letter via certified mail to EDD. 4. Contact your local state representative's office. They often have liaisons who can help with EDD issues. 5. File a complaint with the EDD's internal affairs department. 6. If all else fails, consider contacting a labor lawyer. Don't give up! The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Keep pushing until you get your benefits.

•Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start working on these steps. Have you gone through this process yourself?

•Yep, unfortunately I have. It took about 2 months, but I finally got all my back pay. The state rep's office was surprisingly helpful. Good luck!

Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes payments are processed but not mailed for some reason. Also, make sure your address is up to date in the system.

•I've checked online, but there's no info about the missing payments. And my address is correct. It's so frustrating!

PRO TIP: Call exactly at 8:01 AM when they open. Keep redialing if you get a busy signal. It took me 43 tries but I finally got through!
