EDD payment gap between disability and PFL after delivery - no payments since May

just wanna add in that you need to keep certifying for benefits even during that transition period when nothings happening. system is stupid that way! i missed a week of certifying during my transition and had to jump through HOOPS to get it fixed.

The EDD rep explained that my disability claim had closed but my PFL claim had been flagged for review because there was a date mismatch between when my doctor said my recovery ended and when I filed for PFL. It was just sitting there waiting for someone to manually review it. The rep was able to fix it immediately once I actually reached someone.

One more important thing: if you do reach someone at EDD, make sure to ask them to check both your SDI account AND your PFL account. also important - check ur ui online account for any messages!!! sometimes they send notices there asking for more info, but don't email u about it. i missed one for almost 3 weeks which delayed everything!!!!

Update us when you get this resolved!! I'm in the same boat (baby born April 17, disability ended May 30, started PFL but no payments yet). The whole system is so broken and nobody at EDD seems to care that new parents are going without income.
