LPT: If you're eligible, try using the Taxpayer Advocate Service. They can sometimes help you navigate IRS issues without the crazy wait times.
Honestly, at this point I'm considering hiring a tax professional just to deal with the IRS for me. Anyone had experience with that? Is it worth the cost?
anyone else feel like the whole system is designed to make us give up? its like they WANT us to fail smh
Has anyone else noticed that the website is always 'under maintenance' when you try to log in late at night? It's like they don't want us to access our accounts or something. 🤔
Here's what I've learned after 6 months of dealing with EDD: 1. Persistence is key. Keep calling. 2. Use the comma trick when dialing to auto-input your selections. 3. Try different times of day - mid-morning on Wednesdays seems to work best. 4. Have all your info ready before you call. 5. Be polite to the rep - they're overwhelmed too. 6. If one rep can't help, politely ask to speak to a tier 2 specialist. 7. Document EVERYTHING. Get names and ID numbers. 8. Check your spam folder regularly for EDD emails. 9. Use the AskEDD feature on the website for simple questions. 10. If all else fails, contact your state representative. Hope this helps someone. We're all in this together!

Ugh, I feel for you. The whole system is so broken. I had to jump through so many hoops just to get my regular unemployment. It's like they don't want us to get the benefits we're entitled to 🙄

Hey, just a heads up - make sure you're still certifying for that week even though you're in training. Some people forget and it can mess up your claim.
