Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

Hey, don't panic! This happened to me last month. Turned out they just needed to verify my identity. I uploaded a copy of my driver's license and social security card, and it was resolved in a few days.

Anyone know if there's a penalty for missing the interview? Like, do they reduce your benefits or something?
As far as I know, there's no direct penalty. But obviously, your benefits won't start until you complete the interview process.
I think if you miss multiple interviews they might flag your account for review. But one missed interview shouldn't be a big deal if you reschedule.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help push things through with EDD.
I hadn't even thought of that! How do I find out who my assembly member is?
Just google '[your city] assembly member' and it should come up. Their offices are usually pretty helpful with EDD issues.

This happened to me last year. Turns out they needed additional documentation but never notified me. Might be worth checking if they need anything else from you.
