PFL claim submitted a month ago, no updates. Part D sent 8/5. What to do?
I submitted my PFL care claim form almost a month ago, and I haven't heard anything back. The doctor sent in Part D on August 5th, but there's been no update since then. I'm getting worried because it's been so long without any confirmation or payment. Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay? What should I do next? I'm thinking about calling them, but I'm not sure what to say or ask.

I found a way to solve PFL claim delay issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMMyvcm-kFw

Ugh, I feel ya. The PFL system is such a mess rn. I waited like 6 weeks before I heard anything back on my claim. It's frustrating af but sadly pretty normal. Hang in there!

6 weeks?! That's insane. Did you do anything to speed up the process or just wait it out?

Nah, I just waited. Tried calling a few times but always got the 'high call volume' message 🙄 Eventually it just showed up in my account

Here's what you need to do: 1. Call them ASAP. The number is on their website. 2. When you call, have your claim number ready. 3. Be polite but firm. Ask for a status update and if they need any additional info. 4. If they say it's still processing, ask for an estimated completion date. 5. Keep a record of who you talked to and what they said. 6. If they say they're missing info, ask them to specify exactly what they need and how to submit it. 7. Follow up with an email summarizing your call (if possible). 8. If you don't hear back within their estimated timeframe, call again. Remember, squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't be afraid to advocate for yourself!

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely follow these steps. Do you know if there's a best time to call to avoid long wait times?

In my experience, early morning (right when they open) or late afternoon tends to have shorter wait times. Avoid calling during lunch hours if possible.

This is solid advice 💯 I'd add: document EVERYTHING. You never know when you might need to prove you've been trying to resolve this.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. (https://www.claimyr.com

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. Used it twice now. Saved me hours of hold time.

20 bucks? That's highway robbery! The government should make this service free 😤

I hear ya, but tbh I'd rather pay $20 than waste a whole day on hold. Time is money, ya know?

This happened to me last year. Turns out they were missing some info from my employer. Might be worth checking if your work submitted everything correctly on their end.

Oh, I hadn't thought of that. I'll definitely check with HR. Thanks for the tip!

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the phone, try reaching out on Twitter. Sometimes their social media team is more responsive than customer service. 🤷♂️

Anyone else notice that PFL claims seem to be taking way longer since COVID? I swear the whole system is held together with duct tape and prayers at this point.

Preach! 🙌 It's like they forgot how to function after the pandemic. Get it together, folks!
