PFL claim filed 2 weeks ago, no response. Normal wait time?

I filed my PFL claim two weeks ago and still haven't heard anything back. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm starting to get worried about when I'll receive my benefits. Any advice on how to follow up or what to expect would be really helpful!

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Filed mine 3 weeks ago and radio silence. This waiting game is driving me nuts! 😤

3 weeks? That's nothing. I've been waiting for 2 months now. The system is completely broken 🤡

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes that can speed things up

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit?

20 bucks? No way, that's a rip-off

I get the skepticism, but it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Can you give more details about how it works? I'm desperate at this point

@profile 7 Sure! You just go to the website, choose the department you need to call, pay, and they start calling. When they get a real person, your phone rings. Simple as that.

Here's what I've learned about PFL claims after going through this process multiple times: 1. Processing times can vary wildly, from 1-6 weeks typically. 2. If you haven't heard back after 3 weeks, definitely try to contact them. 3. Make sure all your documentation was submitted correctly. Missing docs can cause major delays. 4. Check your online account regularly for updates or requests for additional info. 5. If you're really stuck, consider reaching out to your local state representative's office. They can sometimes help expedite things. Hang in there, OP! The system is frustrating, but you'll get through it.

Thank you so much for this detailed response! Really helpful. I'll double-check my docs and give it another week before I start calling.

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes their emails end up there. Also, make sure you're logged into your account on the PFL website to see if there are any updates or requests for more information.

Good call! Just checked and nothing in spam, but I'll keep an eye on it. Logged into the website too, no updates there either. Guess I'll just have to be patient 😅

Anybody else notice that they seem to be extra slow lately? I wonder if theyre short staffed or something

I heard they got a new computer system and its causing all kinds of delays. Classic government move 🤦‍♂️

New system or not, this is ridiculous. We have bills to pay!

Pro tip: If you can, apply for PFL before you actually need it. I applied a month before my leave started and it made things way less stressful.
