PFL claim filed 4 weeks ago, no response yet. Normal wait time?
Hey everyone, I filed for paid family leave a few weeks ago and I'm starting to get worried. It's been about a month since I submitted my application and I haven't heard anything back yet. No letters, no updates, nothing. Is this normal? How long did it take for you guys to hear back after filing? I'm getting a bit anxious here.

Ugh, I feel ya. I filed for PFL about 2 months ago and it took FOREVER to hear back. Like, seriously, why does it take so long? š I finally got my first payment after 6 weeks. Hang in there!

6 weeks?! That's insane. I thought it was supposed to be faster than that. Did you have to do anything special to get it moving?

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Here's what you need to know about PFL processing times and what to expect: ā¢ Normal processing time is 2-3 weeks, but can be longer during busy periods ā¢ You should receive a notice of computation within 10 days of filing ā¢ If your claim is incomplete, you'll get a request for additional info ā¢ First payments are typically issued within 14 days of claim approval ā¢ Check your online account for status updates ā¢ If it's been over 3 weeks with no update, try calling the PFL office Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

The whole system is a joke. I've been waiting 2 months and still nothing. They don't care about us at all. š¤¬

I know it sucks, but hang in there. Have you tried reaching out to your local rep? Sometimes they can help speed things up

Pro tip: if you're having trouble getting through on the phone, try calling right when they open. I got through after only a 20 min wait doing this!

Anyone else notice that the online portal is always "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? š

Hey OP, did you make sure to have your employer fill out their portion of the form? I forgot to do that and it delayed my claim by weeks š

Oh shoot, I think I did but now I'm not 100% sure. I'll double check with HR tomorrow. Thanks for the reminder!
