PFL Claim Follow-Up: Tips for Getting Through to a Human?

Hey everyone, I filed for Paid Family Leave last week and I'm trying to follow up on my claim. Has anyone had any luck getting through to the office? I've been trying since Friday but they closed before I could connect. Now it's Monday and I'm still waiting. Any tips on the best time to call or how to get through faster?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to get through for weeks now. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to talk to a human being. šŸ™„

Same here! I swear they must have like 2 people working the phones for the entire state. It's ridiculous.

Have you guys tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through.

Tried that. No luck. It's like playing the lottery, except the prize is just talking to someone who might be able to help you. šŸŽ°šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

I actually found a method that works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

Yeah, I was skeptical at first too, but I tried it and it actually worked. Saved me hours of frustration.

Wait, we have to PAY to talk to a government agency now? That's messed up.

I get it, but for me, it was worth the $20 to not waste an entire day on hold. Time is money, ya know?

Pro tip: If you can, try calling on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Mondays are usually swamped with people trying to follow up after the weekend, and Fridays can be hit or miss with people leaving early.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with PFL claims: • Be persistent. Sometimes it takes multiple calls to get through. • Have all your info ready when you call (claim number, SSN, etc.) • If you get a rep who's not helpful, politely end the call and try again. Some are more knowledgeable than others. • Keep a log of who you talked to and when. It helps if you need to escalate later. • Check your online account regularly for updates. • If you're really stuck, try reaching out to your local state representative's office. They can sometimes help push things along. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP.

Preach! šŸ™Œ It's like they're trying to discourage us from using the benefits we're entitled to.

Nah, you're not alone. It's a total clown show. 🤔

Has anyone had luck with the online portal? I've been trying to check my claim status there but it never seems to update.

LOL good luck with that. That thing is about as useful as a chocolate teapot. šŸ«ā˜•

I've had some success with it, but you gotta check it like every hour. It's super inconsistent.

Quick question - how long did it take for your claim to be processed once you got through? I'm trying to plan my finances and idk how long I'll be waiting.

It took about 2 weeks for me, but I've heard it can take up to a month sometimes. Don't count on it being quick, that's for sure.

Mine took 3 weeks, but my friend got hers in 10 days. I think it depends on how complicated your case is and how backed up they are.
