Need to change return date on EDD application - help!
Hey everyone, I need some advice. I filed for unemployment and now I need to change the return date on my application. Has anyone gone through this process before? What's the best way to do it? I got a letter from them but I'm not sure how to proceed. Any tips would be really appreciated!

I've been there before! You'll need to call EDD directly to change your return date. Make sure you have all your application details ready when you call. Be polite but firm when explaining why you need to change the date. Good luck!

Guys, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

•100% legit. I was skeptical too, but I was desperate. It worked like a charm. Got through in about 2 hours instead of days of trying.

•$20 tho? That's kinda steep just to make a phone call 😬

•I get it, but think about how much time and frustration it saves. Totally worth it for me.

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the phone, try reaching out to your local assembly member's office. They often have direct lines to EDD and can help push things through faster.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Call right when they open (8am I think?) 2. If you get the "too many callers" message, hang up and immediately redial 3. Keep doing this until you get in the queue 4. Once you're in, DO NOT HANG UP no matter how long the wait 5. Be super nice to the rep when you finally get one It took me about 2 hours of redialing, but I finally got through. Hope this helps!

Anyone else feel like we need a complete overhaul of the unemployment system? This is ridiculous in 2023 💀

Hey OP, just a heads up - make sure you have a good reason for changing your return date. They might ask for documentation or proof. Better to be prepared!
