How to claim PFL for daddy bonding days? Already missed work, unsure about filing process
Hey everyone, I'm planning to take some time off work for daddy bonding with my kid. I've already missed one day and I'm thinking about taking another. I want to make sure I get paid for these days, but I'm not really sure how to go about filing a claim. Has anyone gone through this process before? Any tips on what I should do or say when I call?

Congrats on taking time for daddy bonding! šØāš¦ It's so important. Here's what you need to do: ā¢ File a claim ASAP, even for the day you've already taken ā¢ Gather any documentation about your work schedule and bonding time ā¢ When you call, explain clearly that you're claiming payment for daddy bonding days ā¢ Mention both the day you've taken and the upcoming day ā¢ Be prepared to provide additional info they might ask for Good luck!

ā¢This is great advice! I wish I had known all this when I took my bonding time. Would've saved me a lot of headaches š

ā¢@profile 3 It depends on your state and employer, but typically you can get up to 12 weeks. Check your company's policy or state laws for specifics!

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

ā¢I get it, but think about how much your time is worth. For me, not sitting on hold for hours was totally worth it

Ugh, the system is so broken. Why do we have to jump through so many hoops just to spend time with our kids? š

Pro tip: if you can, try calling right when they open. I've had better luck getting through quickly that way.

ā¢This! āļø Also, avoid calling on Mondays if possible. Always seems to be the busiest day

ā¢I'm pretty sure adoptive parents have the same rights for bonding time. Double-check with your HR tho!
