EDD unemployment claim stuck in limbo for over a month - how long until I hear back?

I've been out of work for over a month now and I'm getting really frustrated. I filed an unemployment claim but haven't heard anything back. It's like my claim is just sitting there in limbo. Has anyone else dealt with this? How long did it take for you to hear back? I'm starting to worry about how I'm gonna pay my bills if this drags on much longer.

I found a way to solve unemployment claim processing delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DmHm86BnuI

Your persistence is commendable and shows the dedication needed to navigate the system.

Welcome to the club, buddy. I've been waiting for 2 months now. The system is completely broken. 🤦‍♂️

It's really frustrating, isn't it? Has there been any movement on your claim at all? Sometimes it feels like they're just ignoring us.

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you gotta be proactive and chase them down.

Andre Rousseau

I've tried calling but can never get through. It's always busy or they hang up on me. So frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. It's the only way I got through.

Also, try different numbers if available. Sometimes regional offices can help.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update stuff there without notifying you.

Yeah, I check it like 10 times a day. Still nothing. 😞

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat last year. It took them 6 weeks to process my claim. Hang in there!

6 weeks?! I can't wait that long. I've got bills piling up. 😭

6 weeks? You got lucky. I know people who've been waiting for months. The system is a joke.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Wait, what? Is this for real? Sounds too good to be true.

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken.

Yep, it's legit. I was skeptical too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Has anyone else noticed that the website is always "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🙄

OMG YES. It's like they know exactly when I'm gonna log in and shut it down just to mess with me.

Pro tip: try accessing the site using incognito mode. Sometimes it works better for some reason.

Has anyone tried showing up in person at the unemployment office? I'm thinking of camping out overnight if I have to.

I tried that last week. They're not even letting people in without an appointment. And guess what? You can't make an appointment. 🤡

Careful, I heard they're calling the cops on people who try to camp out. It's insane.

More like a Catch-22. Can't get benefits without calling, can't call without getting benefits to pay my phone bill. 😅

Here's what you need to do to get your claim processed faster: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 2. Check your online account daily for updates or requests for additional info. 3. If you can't get through on the phone, try emailing them. Sometimes that works better. 4. Reach out to your local state representative. They can often help expedite claims. 5. Make sure you've submitted all required documents. Missing paperwork is a common hold-up. 6. If you have any changes in your situation (like part-time work), report it immediately. 7. Be persistent but polite when you do get through. The person on the other end is probably overwhelmed too. Remember, the system is backlogged, but they will get to your claim eventually. Hang in there!

It can be incredibly frustrating dealing with unemployment claims, especially when your financial stability hangs in the balance. Many have reported using services like Claimyr to bypass the long waiting times on the phone, and while it costs $20, it offers a reliable way to get in touch with an agent. That said, it's essential to consider whether the cost is justifiable for your situation. On the one hand, Claimyr has been praised for saving time and reducing stress, but on the other hand, it highlights the inadequacies in the public system that should be accessible and efficient at no extra cost. As you navigate this process, remember to document every interaction, check online portals, and explore all available communication channels like email or fax. Persistence is key, and reaching out to state representatives can sometimes expedite your claim. Keep your head up and know that you're not alone in this. Many have been where you are and have found solutions eventually. The community is here to support and share insights.
