EDD Paid Family Leave form error - can't upload Part C before deadline! Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having a nightmare with my paid family leave form. I'm trying to finish it up before the deadline, but I keep getting this error message saying 'a system exception has occurred and the transaction cannot be completed at this time.' It's been happening since last night and I'm freaking out because I can't access my claim to upload Part C. I've got Part D printed out, but that's it. The office closes soon and I'm worried I won't be able to submit everything in time. Has anyone else run into this? Any advice on what to do if I can't get back into the system? I'm thinking about just mailing everything in as a last resort.

Ugh, that sucks! I had a similar issue last month. Have you tried clearing your cache and using a different browser? Sometimes that works for me when the system is being a pain.

Sounds like a system-wide issue. I've been seeing a lot of posts about this lately. EDD needs to get their act together! š

Idk man, I think they're trying their best. The system is probably overloaded with all the claims.

Trying their best? š¤£ Good one! If this was a private company, they'd be out of business by now.

If you're really in a pinch, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

100% legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

I've heard of this! My cousin used it and said it was a game-changer. Might have to try it myself.

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken š”

I get it, but think about how much your time is worth. For me, not having to sit on hold for hours was totally worth it.

Hey OP, don't panic! Here's what you can do: ā¢ Keep trying to access your claim online. Sometimes the system has temporary glitches that resolve on their own. ā¢ If you can't get in by the end of the day, call EDD first thing tomorrow morning. Explain the situation and ask for an extension due to technical difficulties. ā¢ As a last resort, mail in your forms. Make sure to include a letter explaining why you're submitting by mail and mention the error message you received. ā¢ Take screenshots of the error message as proof. ā¢ If you mail it, use certified mail with return receipt for proof of mailing date. ā¢ Keep calling EDD until you get through. Be persistent! Remember, you're not alone in this. Many people are facing similar issues. Stay calm and keep trying. Good luck!

This is solid advice. I'd add: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every error, every attempt. It might come in handy later.

Pro tip: if you end up mailing your forms, take pictures of EVERYTHING before you send it. I learned that the hard way when they claimed they never received my documents. š

Have you tried contacting your local assembly member's office? Sometimes they can help push things through when you're having issues with state agencies.

I hadn't thought of that! Do you know how I would go about doing that?

Just google your district and 'assembly member'. Their office should have a contact form or phone number. They usually have staff dedicated to helping with state agency issues.

Hey, quick question - does anyone know if the deadline is a hard cutoff or if there's any grace period? Asking for a friend... š

In my experience, they're pretty strict about deadlines. But given the system issues, they might make exceptions. Worth asking about when you get through!
