< Back to California Paid Family Leave

PFL not being processed - stuck in limbo, need help ASAP!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my paid family leave. I submitted all the paperwork but it's not being processed. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what to do next? I'm getting worried because I really need this money soon.

Ugh, I feel you. The system is so broken rn. I had to wait MONTHS for mine to go through. Have you tried calling them? That's what finally worked for me.

I've been trying to call but can never get through. It's so frustrating! How long did you have to wait on hold?

Honestly, it was a nightmare. I think I was on hold for like 3 hours before I finally got someone. But it was worth it in the end. Keep trying!

3 hours?! That's insane. There's gotta be a better way 🤔

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

$20 seems steep just to make a phone call. Is it really worth it?

For me, it was totally worth it. Time is money, and this saved me so much time. Plus, I got my issue resolved quickly.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes there's additional info they need that they don't tell you about. Worth double-checking all your docs are uploaded correctly.

This happened to me too! Turns out there was a glitch in there system and my application got stuck. I had to resubmit everything. Its so annoying but maybe try that?

Oh no, that sounds like a pain. Did you have to start the whole process over from scratch?

Yeah, unfortunately. But at least it went through faster the second time. Good luck!

Here's what worked for me: 1. Double-check all your paperwork. Make sure every form is filled out completely and correctly. 2. Call first thing in the morning, right when they open. You're more likely to get through. 3. If you can't get through on the phone, try emailing them. Sometimes they respond faster that way. 4. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. This can be helpful if you need to escalate your case. 5. If all else fails, contact your local representative's office. They often have liaisons who can help with these issues. Hang in there! It's a frustrating process, but persistence pays off. 💪

Have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds old school, but sometimes that gets faster results than online submissions.
