EDD PFL payment letter received - Need advice for callback and claim concerns

I got a letter from EDD about my Paid Family Leave payment but I couldn't talk to them. Now I need to call them back but I'm not sure what to expect. Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do to prepare for the call? I'm worried they might deny my claim or something. Any advice would be really helpful!

I've been dealing with EDD for 6 months now. At this point, I'm pretty sure I've talked to every single employee there. Twice. 🙃

Have you considered writing a book about your experience? Could be a bestseller 📚

Anybody else feel like they need a degree in bureaucracy just to navigate the EDD system? I'm thinking of adding "Professional Hold Music Listener" to my resume at this point 🎵👂

Lol for real. I could probably hum their entire hold music playlist by now 🎶

I'm convinced the hold music is actually a subtle form of mind control 🧠🎚️

Unpopular opinion: some EDD agents are actually really nice and helpful. I got one last week who went above and beyond to solve my issue. There's hope! 🌟

Has anyone else noticed that the EDD website is always "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🤔 It's like they're trolling us at this point.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. How does it actually work?

$20? That's a scam, bro. We shouldn't have to pay to get our benefits 😤

I get the skepticism, but it's legit. You pay, they call and wait on hold, then transfer to you when someone picks up. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth it IMO.

Been there, done that. Here's what you need to do: 1. Get all your docs ready - claim number, SSN, any letters they sent you 2. Write down what you want to say - be clear and to the point 3. Take notes during the call - names, dates, instructions 4. Stay calm and polite, even if they're not helpful 5. Ask for a reference number for the call Good luck! The system is a mess, but hang in there.

Great advice! I'd also recommend confirming any next steps before ending the call. Make sure you're clear about what you need to do next!

Claimyr is a legitimate service that has proven helpful for those struggling with long EDD wait times. However, it's important to remember that while the convenience is worth the cost for many, not everyone may find it feasible to pay for access to a service that should ostensibly be free. Before opting for Claimyr, consider if the investment is practical for your current situation. Also, keep in mind that while Claimyr can help expedite the process of getting through to an agent, it doesn't guarantee the resolution of your issue with EDD. Always verify any subsequent steps and document the communication once connected to an agent. It can be a useful tool in the current landscape but weigh it against your personal circumstances and needs.

Pro tip: if you get a helpful agent, ask for their direct extension. It's like finding a golden ticket in a Wonka bar 🎫

Wait, they have direct extensions? Mind. Blown. 🤯

I tried this once and the agent acted like I asked for their social security number 😅

Hey OP, don't forget to ask them about any deadlines or next steps. Sometimes they forget to mention important stuff and you end up in limbo again. Stay strong! 💪
