EDD PFL Application: 48+ hours, no response. Normal wait time?

Hey everyone, I just had my first child and I'm trying to apply for paid family leave. It's been over 48 hours since I submitted my application and I haven't heard anything back. Is this normal? Anyone else experiencing long wait times with EDD? I'm getting a bit anxious here.

I found a way to solve EDD paid family leave delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4cvvAopb9k

Congrats on your new baby! 🎉 But yeah, EDD is notoriously slow. I waited almost two weeks before I heard anything back when I applied for PFL. Hang in there!

Two weeks?! 😱 Oh man, I hope it doesn't take that long. Did you have to do anything special to get them to respond?

Nah, just waited it out. But if you're really worried, you could try calling them. Good luck getting through tho lol

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Here's what you need to know about Paid Family Leave (PFL) in California: 1. Processing Time: Typically takes about 2 weeks, but can be longer. 2. Eligibility: You must have paid into State Disability Insurance (SDI) in the past 5-18 months. 3. Duration: Up to 8 weeks of partial pay. 4. Amount: About 60-70% of your wages earned 5-18 months before your claim start date. 5. Application: Can be done online through SDI Online. 6. Required Docs: Birth certificate, social security number, and employment info. If you haven't heard back after 2 weeks, definitely give them a call. The wait times can be brutal, so be prepared. Good luck and congrats on your new addition!

Wow, thanks for all the info! This is super helpful. I'll give it a few more days and then try calling if I don't hear anything.

Ugh, EDD is the worst. I swear they're stuck in the stone age or something. Why does everything take so long with them? 🙄

Preach! 🙌 Its like they're using carrier pigeons to process claims or sumthing

Hey now, don't insult carrier pigeons like that. They'd probably be faster! 😂
