4 weeks no update on PFL application from EDD. What to do?
Hey everyone, I'm at my wits end with this paid family leave application. It's been 4 weeks and I haven't heard a peep from EDD. No updates, no nothing. I'm starting to worry. Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay? Any advice on what I should do next or what questions I should ask when I finally get through to someone?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I went through something similar last year. It's frustrating how slow the process can be. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

I've been trying to call but it's impossible to get through. It's like they don't want us to reach them 🙄

Pro tip: call right when they open. I mean like, the second they open. Set an alarm and everything. It's annoying but it worked for me.

Or try calling 5 minutes before they close. Sometimes you can catch them when theyre not as busy

4 weeks is actually not that bad, believe it or not. I waited 8 weeks for mine to process. The system is totally overwhelmed. Hang in there!

8 weeks?! That's insane. How did you manage financially during that time?

It was tough, not gonna lie. Had to borrow from family and max out some credit cards. But it all worked out in the end. Just keep pushing!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me weeks of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Can confirm, I used it too. Felt silly paying for something that should be free, but it got the job done 🤷♂️

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 2. Check your online account daily for updates. 3. Make sure you've submitted all required documents. Double-check! 4. If you can't get through by phone, try emailing. Sometimes that works. 5. Contact your local state representative. They can sometimes expedite things. 6. Be persistent but polite when you do get through. 7. Ask specifically if there's anything missing from your application or if they need any additional information. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't give up!

The whole system is broken af. We pay into this and then have to jump through hoops to get what we're owed. It's a joke 🤡

Quick question - did you receive a confirmation email when you first submitted your application? If not, it's possible it didn't go through properly.

Yeah, I did get a confirmation email. That's why I'm so confused about the radio silence since then.

Gotcha. Then it's probably just the usual EDD slowness. Hang in there!
