EDD Baby Bonding Claim Stuck - Silent Phone Line, No Response. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my baby bonding claim. I submitted it a while ago but haven't heard anything back. I tried calling but the line was silent. Anyone else dealing with this? Any advice on how to get through to someone?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD system is a nightmare rn. I've been trying to get through for weeks. Have you tried calling right when they open? Sometimes that works for me.

Calling when they open is hit or miss. I've had better luck calling around 3pm. Less traffic then.

Thanks for the tips! I'll try calling at different times and see if that helps.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

20 bucks? thats steep. but i guess if it works...

Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

How long did you have to wait for the callback?

It took about an hour for me, but I've heard it can vary. Still way better than being stuck on hold yourself.

Have you tried faxing your claim? Sometimes that gets faster results than calling or waiting for snail mail.

I'm in the same boat, buddy. Been waiting on my claim for 2 months now. The whole system is a joke. Good luck getting any real help from EDD. 🙄

2 months? Amateur hour. Try 6 months of radio silence. 💀

Here's what worked for me with my baby bonding claim: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and faxes. 2. Use the online portal to submit your claim if you haven't already. It's faster than mail. 3. If you can't get through on the phone, try emailing. Sometimes they respond quicker that way. 4. Reach out to your local state representative. They can sometimes expedite claims. 5. Be persistent but polite. The people on the other end are probably overwhelmed too. 6. Double-check all your paperwork. One small error can delay everything. 7. If all else fails, consider using a paid service like others have mentioned to get through on the phone. Hang in there! The process is frustrating, but you'll get through it eventually.

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try emailing and reaching out to my rep. Really appreciate it!

I heard they're updating the EDD system soon. Maybe wait a few weeks and see if things improve? 🤔

I'm dealing with the exact same thing! Filed my baby bonding claim 6 weeks ago and it's like it disappeared into a black hole. The phone system is absolutely useless - either busy signals or that weird silent line you mentioned. I've started keeping a spreadsheet of every time I've tried calling (sad, I know, but at least I feel like I'm doing something). Has anyone had luck with the online chat feature, or is that just as broken as everything else?
