Double charged $29.99 on 2/11 - How to get refund?
Has anyone else had issues with duplicate charges on their card? I just noticed I got charged twice for the same thing on the same day. Both charges were for $29.99 on 2/11. I'm pretty sure it's because my first attempt didn't go through, so I had to try again using a link from a text message. Now I'm stuck with two charges instead of one. Anyone know how to fix this or who to contact? It's frustrating dealing with these kinds of errors.

Ugh, that sucks! I've had similar issues before. Have you tried contacting your bank? Sometimes they can help reverse duplicate charges pretty quickly.

•Thanks for the suggestion! I'll give my bank a call and see if they can help sort this out. Hopefully it won't be too much of a hassle.

•Yeah, definitely try the bank first. They usually have better customer service than most companies these days 🙄

•Just be careful with chargebacks tho. Some companies get real pissy if you go that route without talking to them first 😬

This happened to me last month! It was such a pain to deal with. I ended up having to email their customer support team like 3 times before they finally refunded the extra charge. Hang in there!

Have you tried reaching out to the company directly? Sometimes these things are just system glitches and they can fix it pretty easily if you let them know.

•That's a good idea. I'll try to find their contact info and shoot them an email. Fingers crossed they're responsive!

•Don't listen to the negativity. I've had good experiences with most companies when it comes to billing issues. Just be polite and persistent!

Hey, I know this is frustrating, but I found a method that might help you get someone on the phone faster. I used this site called claimyr.com - it's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It does cost $20, but it saved me hours of waiting. Here's a video about how it works: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit or some kind of scam?

•I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. I was hesitant at first too, but it really did work for me. Saved me a ton of time and frustration.

•20 bucks tho? That's kinda steep just to talk to someone...

•I thought so too at first, but when you consider how much time it saves and how frustrating it is to be on hold forever, it was worth it for me. But yeah, everyone's gotta decide if it's worth it for their situation.

This is why I always use a credit card for online purchases. It's way easier to dispute charges and get your money back if something goes wrong. Debit cards are a nightmare for this kinda stuff.

•True, but not everyone can get a credit card or wants to risk going into debt. It's a trade-off.

Here's what you need to do to resolve this issue: 1. Document everything: Take screenshots of the charges on your account statement. 2. Contact the company: Send an email explaining the situation and include your evidence. Be polite but firm. 3. Follow up: If you don't hear back within 3-5 business days, call their customer service line. 4. Escalate if necessary: Ask to speak with a supervisor if the first-line support can't help. 5. Bank dispute: If all else fails, contact your bank to initiate a chargeback for the duplicate charge. 6. Keep records: Save all correspondence in case you need it later. Remember, most companies want to keep customers happy and will likely resolve this quickly once you bring it to their attention. Stay calm and persistent, and you'll get your money back!

Have you checked if maybe you accidentally signed up for a subscription or something? Sometimes those sneaky trials auto-renew and catch you off guard.

•Good thinking, but I'm pretty sure it's not a subscription. Both charges are identical and on the same day. Definitely seems like a glitch or error on their end.

This is why I always use PayPal for online purchases. They have buyer protection and it's easier to dispute charges. Plus, you don't have to give your actual card info to every site you buy from.
