Can't access account due to old email, EDD phone lines always full. Help!
I'm having a nightmare with my account. It's linked to an old email I can't access anymore. When I try to log in, it says it sent a code to that email, but I obviously can't get it. I've called so many times, but every single time I get a recording saying they've reached their max number of callers and then I get hung up on. I've even mailed forms to them, but no response. Anyone else dealing with this? Any ideas on how to actually get through to a human?

I found a way to solve account access without email, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r779xqwtE1o

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat last year. It's like they purposely make it impossible to reach anyone. Have you tried calling right when they open? That sometimes worked for me.

•Yeah, I've tried that. No luck. It's always the same recording about too many callers. 😫

•Pro tip: call 30 minutes before they open. You'll be put on hold, but at least you'll be in the queue!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•I was skeptical too, but I was desperate. It actually worked for me. Got through in about 2 hours.

•$20 tho? That's kinda steep just to talk to someone...

•I get it, but after wasting days trying to get through, it was worth it for me. Your call tho!

Have you tried reaching out on social media? Sometimes they respond faster there. Worth a shot!

This is why the system is broken. They make it impossible to fix simple issues. I've been dealing with a similar problem for MONTHS. It's ridiculous.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 2. Reach out to your local representative. They often have direct lines to these agencies. 3. If you mailed forms, send them again via certified mail so you have proof of delivery. 4. File a formal complaint with the agency's oversight department. 5. As a last resort, consider contacting local media. Sometimes public pressure can work wonders. It's a frustrating process, but persistence is key. Don't give up!

•Wow, thank you for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try reaching out to my rep. Hadn't thought of that.

•This is solid advice. I'd add: if you do get through, ask for a direct number or extension for follow-up. It can save you tons of time later.

Have you tried creating a new account with your current email? Maybe you can link it to your existing info somehow.

•I tried, but it says my SSN is already associated with an account. Catch-22 😑

This is why I always keep access to old email accounts, even if I don't use them anymore. Lesson learned the hard way, I guess.

Unpopular opinion: maybe try faxing them? I know it sounds ancient, but sometimes these old school methods work with government agencies.
