If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Just to give you hope, my PFL baby bonding claim was stuck for 6 weeks, then I discovered they needed additional info from my employer (which they never told me about). Once I got my HR to submit the missing wage info, my claim was processed in 2 days. Check if there's something similar holding up your claim. Also, I've found that calling on Wednesdays between 1-2pm has better luck getting through than mornings when everyone is calling.

Thank you! I did find a message in my account asking for additional employer verification. Going to get that from HR tomorrow and hopefully that fixes it.

Glad you found the message in your account! This is extremely common with the new system - the notification emails often go to spam or don't send at all. Once you've submitted that employer verification, give it 3-5 business days and then call again if it's not processed. The PFL division is legally required to make a determination within 14 days of receiving all required documentation.

UPDATE: It worked!! After submitting the employer verification, my claim was approved within 48 hours. Payment is being processed now. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions!

Random but make sure you keep track of your last day worked too because sometimes they calculate it wrong and it can delay your payments if the dates don't match up with what your doctor put!

yasss this happened to me and it delayed my claim for like a MONTH bc the hr dept at my job put my last day wrong and it didnt match my doctors form ugh it was a nightmare

Just checking in - have you received any updates on your claim? Did you check your claim status online as suggested? If it's still showing nothing by next week, I'd definitely recommend calling EDD directly.

I just checked and my claim status now says "Paid" with a date of 12/28! So I guess the payment is on its way. Still no EDD card though, so I'm not sure how I'll access the money. Thanks everyone for your help and insights! I feel much better knowing what to expect now.

my coworker just had a baby an she said her PFL was like $200 more per week than her SDI from when she was pregnant even tho it was only like 6 months apart lol. think its cuz she got a fat bonus right b4 she went out

One more important thing to add: If you're transitioning from State Disability Insurance (SDI) for pregnancy to Paid Family Leave (PFL) for bonding, you have two options: 1. Continue your claim: This uses the same benefit amount as your SDI claim, based on your older earnings. 2. File a new claim: This recalculates your benefit based on more recent earnings. If your income has increased significantly, option #2 would likely result in a higher weekly benefit. However, there's a trade-off - filing a new claim may cause a gap between benefits while the new claim processes, whereas continuing your claim is seamless. Since you mentioned it's been 3+ years since your last claim, this wouldn't apply to your current situation, but it's useful information for anyone reading who might be filing for pregnancy disability followed by baby bonding.

Thanks for adding this! Good info for others to know. In my case, this will be a brand new claim (not pregnancy related) so I'll definitely get the recalculation based on current earnings.

I remember being so confused about this last year! Just to add my experience - yes, all payments show in your regular EDD account but the categorization isn't always super clear. Sometimes they label things weird and it's confusing. I just had my second baby and this time I created a simple spreadsheet to track expected payment dates/amounts and then matched them against what showed up in my account. Made things much easier to understand.

That spreadsheet idea is brilliant! I'm definitely going to do that to stay organized. Thanks for the tip!

UPDATE: I used the Claimyr service that someone recommended below, and got through to an EDD rep in about 20 minutes. She told me they received my paperwork but it was flagged for "additional review" because my employer reported a different PDL end date than what my doctor submitted. She was able to verify everything and pushed it through! Said I should see payment in 3-5 business days. Such a relief!

That's great news! This is exactly why calling is so important when there are delays. There's often some small discrepancy that can be resolved quickly but will cause indefinite delays if you don't bring it to their attention.

0 coins

So glad you got it sorted out! It's crazy how often these little issues come up that they never bother to communicate to us.

Pro tip for anyone reading this thread later: If you're pregnant and planning to transition from PDL to baby bonding, call your employer's HR department BEFORE submitting your PFL paperwork. Make sure they have the correct end date for your disability claim, and get it in writing if possible. So many of these delays happen because employers and doctors submit conflicting dates.

0 coins

I wish I'd known this before! My transition was delayed 6 weeks because my doctor put my return-to-work date as the day after my C-section recovery (8 weeks) but my company somehow had it as 6 weeks. The EDD system just got stuck in limbo because of the conflicting info.
