System Exception Error When Accessing Account - Any Solutions?
Hey everyone, I keep getting this weird error message when I try to access my account: "A system exception has occurred and the transaction cannot be completed at this time." It's driving me crazy! Has anyone else run into this? Any ideas on how to fix it?

Ugh, I've been dealing with the same issue for days now! It's so frustrating. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? That sometimes helps with these weird glitches.

I had this problem last month. It turned out to be a server-side issue on their end. I just waited it out for a couple of days and then it magically started working again. Super annoying tho!

Have you tried using a different browser or device? Sometimes these errors can be browser-specific. Also, make sure your system time is set correctly - I've seen that cause weird issues before.

•Good idea! I'll try Firefox instead of Chrome and see if that makes a difference.

Guys, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone about this! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it's legit. I was desperate and gave it a shot. Saved me hours of hold time!

•I get it, but for me, it was worth it to finally get my issue resolved. Time is money, ya know?

Here's what I've learned about this error after dealing with it multiple times: 1. It's usually a temporary issue on their end. Give it a few hours or try again the next day. 2. If it persists, try these steps: - Clear your browser cache and cookies - Use a different browser or device - Check your internet connection - Make sure your system time is correct 3. If none of that works, it might be an account-specific problem. You'll need to contact customer support. 4. Keep a record of when you see this error. If it happens frequently, report it to them. 5. Sometimes, using incognito/private browsing mode can help. Hope this helps someone! Let me know if you have any questions.

•Preach! 🙌 It's 2025 and we're still dealing with these Stone Age systems. Ridiculous.

Has anyone tried contacting them on social media? Sometimes that gets a faster response than calling or emailing.

•A week?! That's insane. Have you tried escalating it to a supervisor or something?

I've been having this exact same error for the past 3 days! It's so frustrating because I need to check my claim status urgently. I tried most of the suggestions here - cleared cache, tried different browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox), even tried on my phone and tablet. Nothing works! The error message is identical to what you described. I'm starting to think it might be an issue with certain accounts or maybe they're doing some kind of system maintenance? Has anyone found a definitive solution yet?

•I'm going through the exact same thing! It's been 4 days for me now with that same error message. Really need to submit some documents but can't get past the login screen. Have you tried calling them directly? I'm wondering if we should all start reporting this as a widespread issue since so many people seem to be affected. Maybe if enough of us complain they'll prioritize fixing it?

I've been dealing with this same error for about 5 days now! It's incredibly frustrating because I have time-sensitive disability paperwork that needs to be submitted. I've tried everything mentioned here - different browsers, clearing cache, incognito mode, different devices, even checked my system time. Nothing works! The error message is exactly the same. I'm starting to wonder if this is affecting people with certain types of accounts or claims? Has anyone noticed any patterns? Like are we all disability claimants or is this happening across all EDD services? I'm definitely going to try calling them but based on what others are saying, it sounds like a nightmare to get through.

•I'm dealing with the exact same thing! Been locked out for about a week now with that stupid "system exception" error. It's definitely hitting disability claimants hard - I've seen this pattern in other forums too. The timing couldn't be worse since I have medical forms due soon. I tried everything you mentioned plus calling during off-peak hours, but still can't get through to a human. Someone mentioned that claimyr service above - might be worth the $20 at this point since we're all stuck. Has anyone tried filing a formal complaint with the state? Maybe we need to make more noise about this widespread issue affecting people who literally depend on these benefits.

I'm experiencing the exact same issue! Been getting that "system exception" error for about 3 days now. It's really concerning because I have important disability documentation that needs to be submitted by the end of this week. I've tried all the basic troubleshooting - different browsers, clearing cache, using my phone instead of computer, etc. Nothing works. What's really worrying me is that this seems to be affecting a lot of disability claimants specifically based on what I'm reading here. Is this some kind of targeted system issue? I can't afford to miss deadlines because of their technical problems. Has anyone had any success reaching them through their technical support line? I'm wondering if we should start documenting these issues in case we need to prove we couldn't access the system due to their errors. This is seriously stressing me out! 😰

•Hey @Mateo Warren, I totally feel your stress about missing deadlines! I've been documenting everything too - screenshots of error messages, times I tried to access the system, etc. Just in case I need proof later that it wasn't my fault. You might want to try calling early in the morning (like 8 AM sharp) when the lines first open - I've heard that's when you have the best shot at getting through. Also, if you have any local disability advocacy groups in your area, they might be able to help escalate this issue or at least provide guidance on protecting yourself from missed deadlines due to system errors. We shouldn't have to stress about losing benefits because their website is broken! 😤

I've been dealing with this exact same error for about 6 days now and it's driving me absolutely insane! Like many others here, I'm a disability claimant with urgent paperwork deadlines looming. I've tried literally everything mentioned in this thread - multiple browsers, clearing cache, different devices, incognito mode, checking system time, you name it. Nothing works! What really gets me is that this seems to be disproportionately affecting disability claimants. That's not a coincidence. I'm starting to think there might be a specific issue with the disability portal or certain account types. I'm documenting everything with timestamps and screenshots in case I need to appeal any missed deadlines later. Has anyone tried reaching out to a disability advocacy organization about this? Maybe if we band together and make this a bigger issue, they'll actually prioritize fixing it instead of leaving us all hanging. This system is supposed to help people who are already struggling, not make our lives harder! 😡

•@Omar Hassan You re'absolutely right about this seeming to target disability claimants specifically - that s'way too much of a pattern to be random! I m'new here but dealing with the exact same issue for the past 4 days. I ve'been keeping detailed records too screenshots, (timestamps, etc. which) seems smart based on what everyone s'saying. Has anyone tried contacting your local Assembly member or state representative? Sometimes they have dedicated staff to help with state agency issues like this. I m'also wondering if we should file complaints with the California Department of Technology since this seems like a systemic IT failure affecting people s'access to essential services. We definitely shouldn t'have to suffer because their systems are broken! This is seriously impacting people s'livelihoods. 😔

I've been experiencing this exact same "system exception" error for the past week! Like many others here, I'm also a disability claimant with time-sensitive documentation that needs to be submitted. It's really concerning that this seems to be predominantly affecting disability accounts - that can't be a coincidence. I've tried all the standard troubleshooting (multiple browsers, clearing cache, different devices, incognito mode) with no luck. What's particularly frustrating is that I can't even get through to customer service to report the issue or get an estimated timeline for resolution. I'm keeping detailed records of every attempt with timestamps and screenshots, and I'd encourage everyone else to do the same. If this causes us to miss important deadlines through no fault of our own, we'll need that documentation for appeals. Has anyone considered filing a complaint with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing or reaching out to disability advocacy groups? This feels like a systematic issue that's disproportionately impacting people who rely on these services for their basic needs. We shouldn't have to jump through hoops or pay third-party services just to access our own accounts! 😤

•@StarSurfer I'm so glad you mentioned filing complaints with outside agencies - that's exactly what we need to be doing! I've been dealing with this same error for 5 days now and I'm also a disability claimant. The pattern is way too obvious at this point. I'm going to start reaching out to my local Assembly member's office tomorrow and also file a complaint with the Department of Fair Employment and Housing like you suggested. We need to make this a bigger issue because clearly they're not prioritizing fixing it on their own. It's unacceptable that people who depend on these benefits are being locked out of the system with no timeline for resolution. Keep documenting everything - we might need to organize a class action if this keeps up! 💪

I'm a newcomer here but I've been lurking and reading through everyone's experiences - I'm dealing with the exact same "system exception" error for the past 2 days! I'm also a disability claimant and it's really alarming to see how many of us are affected by this same issue. Based on what I'm reading, it definitely seems like there's a pattern here targeting disability accounts specifically. I've already started documenting everything with screenshots and timestamps after seeing the advice from @Jamal Wilson and others. I think the suggestion from @StarSurfer about contacting the Department of Fair Employment and Housing is brilliant - we need to escalate this beyond just EDD's broken customer service. I'm also going to reach out to my local disability advocacy center tomorrow to see if they can help amplify this issue. Has anyone tried creating a shared document or spreadsheet where we can all log our experiences? It might help establish the scope of this problem if we ever need to file group complaints or prove this is a systematic issue affecting disabled Californians' access to essential services. Thanks to everyone sharing their experiences and solutions - this community is a lifesaver when the actual system fails us! 🙏

•@Yuki Kobayashi Great idea about creating a shared document! I m'new to dealing with this issue but I ve'been getting the same system "exception error" for the past day. As another disability claimant, I m'definitely seeing the concerning pattern everyone s'talking about. I d'be happy to help contribute to a shared spreadsheet or document tracking all our experiences - having that data could be really powerful when filing complaints with outside agencies. I m'also going to start reaching out to disability advocacy groups in my area. It s'scary how many of us are being locked out right when we need access most, but I m'encouraged by how everyone here is supporting each other and taking action! 💙
