SDI pregnancy claim stuck in 'pending processing' for months - no payments received. Help!

Has anyone else been waiting forever for their SDI pregnancy disability claim to be processed? I filed my claim back in November and it's still showing as "pending processing". The state confirmed they got my claim and my doctor's certification, but I haven't heard anything since then. It's been months and I haven't received any payments. This is so frustrating! How long did it take for others to start getting their payments?

I found a way to solve SDI pregnancy claim processing delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilK52N18o6I

Ugh, I'm in the same boat! Filed in October and still nothing. It's ridiculous how long they're taking. Don't they realize we have bills to pay? 🤬

Seriously! I thought I was the only one. It's like they don't care that we're pregnant and need this money.

Have you tried calling them? I heard sometimes that can speed things up.

Calling? LOL good luck getting through. I've tried like a million times 🙄

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

Yeah, I was skeptical at first too, but it really worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

$20 just to talk to someone? That's crazy. The system is so broken 😤

I know it sucks to pay, but for me it was worth it to finally get some answers.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Keep all your paperwork organized 2. Call first thing in the morning, right when they open 3. If you can't get through, try faxing your info (yes, fax! It's like we're in the stone age) 4. Email your state representative - sometimes they can help push things along 5. Don't give up! It took me about 6 weeks to get my first payment, but I had to be really persistent. Good luck!

Thank you so much for the detailed advice! I'll definitely try emailing my rep. Didn't even think of that!

Faxing? What year is it? 1995? 😂

I heard they're super backlogged because of covid. My friend who works at EDD said they're still catching up on claims from last year 😱

This is why we need better maternity leave policies in this country. It's a joke that we have to fight so hard for basic support during pregnancy. 😤

Preach! 🙌 We're so behind compared to other countries.

Yeah but who's gonna pay for it? Taxes are already too high

Maybe if we stopped spending so much on [redacted political topic], we'd have plenty for maternity leave 🤷‍♀️

Pro tip: check your claim status online every day. Sometimes they update it without notifying you. Also, make sure you certify for benefits as soon as you're eligible!

Thanks for the tip! I've been checking weekly, but I'll start doing it daily now.

am i the only 1 who thinks its weird that we gotta jump thru all these hoops just to get money we already paid into the system? smh

Nope, not just you. The whole thing is a clown show 🤡

Has anyone tried contacting their doctor's office to see if there's an issue with the medical certification? Sometimes that can hold things up.

0 coins

I didn't even think of that! I'll give my OB's office a call tomorrow. Thanks!

Ugh, I remember going through this last year. Took forever to get my payments started. Hang in there, OP! It'll come through eventually. 💪
