SDI claims they never received my medical form, but I have a receipt number. What now?

Has anyone else had issues with SDI claiming they never received your medical form, even though you have a receipt number showing it was submitted online? I'm so frustrated. My doctor sent it in on December 31st, and I have the receipt to prove it, but SDI is saying they don't have it. What should I do?

Ugh, I've been there. SDI's system is a mess. Have you tried calling them to explain the situation? Sometimes talking to a human can help sort things out.

I've been trying to call for days, but I can never get through. It's so frustrating! 😤

Pro tip: call right when they open. You might have better luck getting through.

Thanks for the advice! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning.

This happened to me too! It turned out that there was a glitch in their online system. I had to resend the form and include a copy of my original receipt. It took a while, but they eventually sorted it out.

SDI is such a joke. They loose everything and then blame us for it. I swear they do this on purpose to delay payments. 🤬

Preach! 🙌 The whole system needs an overhaul.

lets not jump to conclusions. Theyre probly just understaffed and overworked

Here's what you need to do: 1. Keep calling SDI until you get through. Be persistent. 2. When you do get through, explain the situation calmly and provide your receipt number. 3. Ask them to check their system thoroughly, including any pending or unprocessed submissions. 4. If they still can't find it, request that they open a case to investigate the missing form. 5. Get the name and ID of the representative you speak with, and ask for a reference number for your call. 6. Follow up with a written complaint, including all the details and your receipt number. 7. If all else fails, contact your local state representative's office. They often have liaisons who can help with SDI issues. Remember, document everything! Good luck!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

Yeah, it actually does! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration.

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken.

@profile 11 I get it, but for me, it was worth it to finally get my issue resolved. Time is money, you know?

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes SDI emails end up there. Also, double-check the email address you provided them - a typo could explain why they're saying they never received it.

OP, any updates? Did you manage to get through to them?

Not yet, but I'm going to try calling first thing tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed! 🤞

I had a similar issue last month! My doctor's office submitted my medical certification online and I had the receipt number, but SDI kept saying they couldn't find it in their system. What worked for me was having my doctor's office call SDI directly and reference the receipt number while I was on a three-way call. Turns out there was some kind of technical glitch where online submissions weren't properly linking to claim files. The rep was able to manually locate and attach the form to my claim on the spot. Might be worth asking your doctor's office if they can make that call with you - sometimes they have better luck getting through than we do!

That's brilliant advice! I never thought of having my doctor's office do a three-way call. I'm definitely going to ask them about this - it sounds like they might have more pull with SDI than we do as individuals. Thanks for sharing what worked for you! 🙏
