SDI claim filed - How long for response? Tips to speed up process?
Hey everyone, I just filed for SDI and I'm wondering how long it usually takes to get a response. Has anyone gone through this process recently? Any tips on what to expect or how to speed things up?

I filed for SDI about 2 months ago and it took forever to hear back. The waiting game is brutal. Make sure all your paperwork is in order and double-check everything before submitting. Good luck!

•2 months?! That's insane. Did you try calling them at all during that time?

•Yeah, I tried calling but it was impossible to get through. Spent hours on hold and never spoke to anyone. It's so frustrating 😤

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 20 minutes on hold that way.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I'm skeptical. Why should we have to pay to talk to a government agency? 🤔

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me weeks of frustration. Worth every penny imo. You can always try calling yourself first if you've got the patience of a saint lol

ugh, the SDI system is such a mess rn. I've been waiting for 6 weeks and still nothing. Anyone know if there's a backlog or something?

Here's what worked for me: 1. Submit all docs online if possible 2. Follow up with a phone call after a week 3. Be persistent but polite 4. Document all your interactions It took about 3 weeks total for me. Hope this helps!

•Oh yeah, it was a nightmare. Took me like 50 tries over 3 days. But once I got through, the rep was actually super helpful.

•Fr fr. We pay into this system our whole working lives and then have to fight to use it. Makes no sense.

Has anyone tried reaching out to their local representative? I've heard that can sometimes speed things up.

•I did this! It actually helped a lot. My case got 'escalated' and I heard back within a week after months of silence.

•How do you even find out who your local rep is? 😅

•Just google '[your city] state representative'. Most have contact forms on their websites. Good luck!

I'm in a similar boat - just filed last week and already feeling anxious about the wait time! Reading everyone's experiences here is both helpful and terrifying 😅 Sounds like the key is being super organized with documentation and having patience (easier said than done). Thanks for asking this question @Luca - definitely not alone in wondering about this process!
