SDI benefits delayed after document update: No payments received from EDD, what to do?

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my SDI benefits and could use some advice. I recently updated all my documents with EDD, but I still haven't received any payments. It's been a while since I submitted everything, and I'm starting to get worried. Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips on how to speed up the process or what I should do next? I'm thinking about calling them, but I know how frustrating that can be. Any help would be appreciated!

I found a way to solve SDI payment delays from EDD, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVFxmscSonM

Ugh, I feel your pain. I went through something similar last year. It's like they purposely make it difficult to get our money. Have you tried emailing them? Sometimes that works better than calling.

Marcus Marsh

I haven't tried emailing yet. Do you have the address? I'm willing to try anything at this point.

Sure thing! It's edd@edd.ca.gov. But don't get your hopes up too high. It took them like 3 weeks to respond to me πŸ™„

In addition to emailing, maybe try sending a message through their online contact form as well. Multiple channels could increase your chances of a response.

For those considering using services like Claimyr, it's vital to understand both the benefits and the costs involved. Claimyr acts as a bridge to alleviate the frustrations of long hold times by automating the call process, which can be invaluable under certain circumstances. However, it's important to weigh the monetary cost against your personal situation and need for resolution. Claimyr is a legitimate tool and many have found it beneficial, yet it may not be the solution for everyone due to its cost. Exploring multiple channels like online accounts, emails, and traditional calling should be exhausted firstβ€”Claimyr can be a backup when traditional methods are too time-consuming or ineffective. Ultimately, whichever method you choose, it's vital to remain persistent and document all interactions to ensure your claim is processed smoothly.

Classic EDD move. They're probably "processing" your documents, which could take anywhere from a day to a century. My advice? Keep calling them every single day until you get through. It's annoying, but it's the only way to get results sometimes.

This. I had to call 47 times before I got through. It's ridiculous, but persistence pays off.

47 times?! That's insane. I guess I better clear my schedule for the next few days...

It's unfortunate that it takes that many attempts. Maybe try calling at non-peak hours like early morning or late evening?

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before sending out payments. Also, make sure you've certified for benefits if that's required for SDI.

Marcus Marsh

Yeah, I've been checking my account obsessively. No updates there either. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: check early in the morning. The system sometimes updates overnight.

Also, try logging in from different browsers or devices. Sometimes technical glitches can affect your view.

Here's what you need to do, step by step: 1. Gather all your documents: Make sure you have copies of everything you submitted. 2. Check your online account: Look for any messages or status updates. 3. Call EDD: Be prepared to wait. Have your claim number and personal info ready. 4. If calling fails, email them: Use edd@edd.ca.gov. Be concise and include your claim number. 5. Document everything: Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 6. Consider contacting your local assembly member: They can sometimes help push things along. 7. Be persistent: Don't give up. Keep following up regularly. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Good luck!

These steps are really helpful! Reaching out to an assembly member could be the ace in the hole if all else fails.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without losing my mind. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Using paid services like Claimyr can be worth it if you value your time. However, it's good to weigh the cost against potential savings in time and stress.

Unpopular opinion: sometimes it's faster to just give up on SDI and go back to work πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Bruh, some of us can't just "go back to work". That's the whole point of SDI πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

It's important to remember that SDI is there for those who truly need it and returning to work isn’t always a viable option.

Have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds like we're back in the 90s, but sometimes that gets faster results than online submissions.

Faxing? Seriously? I don't even know where to find a fax machine these days lol
