SDI application status? Mailed 3 weeks ago, no reference number - How to check EDD disability claim?
I sent in my state disability insurance application through snail mail and it was received like 3 weeks ago. Now I'm totally in the dark about whats going on with my application. Anyone know how I can find out the status and when I might start getting my benefits? I'm kinda freaking out here cause I don't even have a reference number or anything to check online. Help a brother out!

have you tried faxing them? sometimes that works better than mail. also, check if theres a local edd office you can visit in person. good luck!

Visiting a local office worked for me in the past. They're usually more responsive face-to-face.

Have you tried reaching out on social media? Sometimes tweeting at EDD can get their attention. Worth a shot! 🐦

I've seen mixed results with this, but some companies do respond quicker online.

I'm in the exact same situation! Applied by mail about a month ago. This whole process is so frustrating. Solidarity, friend 💪

Will do! We're all in this together. Maybe we should start a support group lol

Welcome to EDD hell, my friend. You're not alone in this boat. The offline application process is notoriously slow and frustrating. Without a reference number, you're pretty much flying blind.

Hot take: the system is designed to be confusing and slow on purpose. They hope people will just give up. Don't let them win!

I definitely feel this way sometimes. It's like they make it difficult on purpose.

Ugh, I feel your pain. I went through the same thing last year. It took them like 6 weeks to even acknowledge they got my application. My advice? Start calling them NOW. Don't wait.

Calling them? Good luck with that 🙄 I spent 3 days trying to get through. Its like winning the lottery

Yeah, I know it sucks. But what else can you do? Just keep trying. Early morning seems to work best.

Oof, 6 weeks? That's rough. I guess I'll start the calling marathon tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

$20 just to make a phone call? That's highway robbery! 😡

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny IMO.

Interesting... might have to give this a shot if I strike out with regular calls. Thanks for the tip!

I tried Claimyr too after endless hours on hold and it was a lifesaver. However, I get why some are hesitant about the cost.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Keep calling EDD every day. Be persistent. 2. Document everything. Write down who you talk to, when, and what they say. 3. Reach out to your local state representative. They can sometimes expedite things. 4. Check your mail religiously. EDD might send you something. 5. Be patient. The system is overwhelmed and slow. Remember, squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't give up!

This is solid advice. I'd add: prepare all your docs before calling. They might ask for stuff.

Bruh, you're playing the waiting game now. EDD moves slower than a sloth on valium. Just keep calling and pray to the bureaucracy gods 🙏

Pro tip: Next time, apply online. It's way faster and you get a confirmation number right away. But for now, yeah, you gotta call them. Brace yourself for some hold music 🎵
