PFL claim stuck pending for 3 weeks, confused about debit card message. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my PFL claim and could use some advice. It's been pending for 3 weeks now, and I'm getting confused messages about a debit card I never asked for. I requested direct deposit, so I'm not sure what's going on. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm worried my claim hasn't been approved and I don't know what to do next. Any tips on how to get this sorted out?

Ugh, the PFL system is such a mess rn. I've been dealing with similar issues for over a month now. Have you tried calling them directly? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

•I've tried calling but can never get through. It's so frustrating! How long did it take you to finally reach someone?

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold that way.

I had the same issue with the debit card thing! Turns out they automatically send one unless you specifically opt out. It's super confusing. You might want to double-check your direct deposit info is correct in their system.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before sending any notifications. It might give you more info about whats going on with your claim.

•I did check online, but it just says 'pending' with no other details. So frustrating!

•Ugh, that sucks. Maybe try reaching out on their social media? Sometimes they respond faster there.

Listen up, I've been through this rodeo before and I've got some advice for you: 1. Don't panic. The system is slow AF but it usually works out in the end. 2. Double-check all your paperwork. Make sure you didn't miss any forms or signatures. 3. If you can't get through on the phone, try emailing them. Include your claim number and all relevant details. 4. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. It might come in handy later. 5. If all else fails, contact your local representative's office. They can sometimes help push things through. Hang in there, OP. It's a frustrating process but you'll get through it!

Hey guys, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•$20 seems steep just to make a phone call. Is it really worth it?

•For me, it was totally worth it. I was losing my mind trying to get through. This saved me so much time and stress.

Have you considered reaching out to a PFL advocate? They might be able to help navigate the system and get answers faster.

•I didn't even know PFL advocates existed! Do you have any recommendations on how to find one?

•Try googling 'PFL advocate' + your state. There are usually non-profit orgs that offer free or low-cost help. Good luck!

Ugh, the PFL system is so broken. I've been waiting 6 weeks for my claim to be processed. This country needs to get its act together when it comes to family leave!

•Preach! 🙌 It's ridiculous how hard they make it for people who just want to take care of their families.

•Totally agree. We need to push for better policies and streamlined systems. This is unacceptable.

Hey OP, just a heads up - sometimes they send the debit card automatically even if you requested direct deposit. It doesn't necessarily mean there's a problem with your claim. Might be worth calling to confirm your payment method tho.
