PFL payment delayed 2+ weeks, missing debit card, need help switching to direct deposit ASAP!
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my Paid Family Leave (PFL) application. It's been over two weeks and I still haven't received any payment. I need to get this reviewed ASAP. Also, I'm worried about my debit card - I think a piece of mail might be missing. Has anyone else had trouble with the debit card system? I'm thinking about switching to direct deposit instead. Any advice on how to get this sorted out quickly?

Ugh, I feel your pain! The PFL system is such a mess rn. I waited almost a month before I got my first payment. Have you tried calling them? It's a nightmare to get through, but it's probably your best bet to get things moving.

•Thanks for the reply. I've been trying to call but keep getting stuck on hold forever. It's so frustrating! 😤 Did you do anything special to finally get through?

•Honestly, I just kept calling over and over. It took me like 50 tries before I got through. I know it sucks, but persistence is key with these guys. Good luck!

•Pro tip: try calling right when they open. I got through on my third try doing that. Also, Tuesdays and Wednesdays seem to be less busy.

Definitely switch to direct deposit if you can. The debit card system is a total clown show 🤡. I had so many issues with mine, including not receiving it for weeks. Direct deposit is way more reliable.

•Thanks for the advice! How did you manage to switch to direct deposit? Did you have to call them or is there a way to do it online?

•You gotta call them to switch, unfortunately. There's no online option (because that would be too easy, right? 🙄). When you finally get through, just tell them you want to switch to direct deposit. They'll walk you through it.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this? Is it legit?

•I was skeptical at first too, but it really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•Idk man, seems kinda sketchy. Why should we have to pay to talk to a government agency?

•I get where you're coming from, but for me, time is money. I'd rather pay $20 than waste a whole day trying to get through. But to each their own!

Here's what you need to do: 1. Keep calling persistently. Use *redial if you have to. 2. Try calling at off-peak hours (early morning or late afternoon). 3. When you get through, ask for a supervisor if the first person can't help. 4. Request an expedited review of your application. 5. Insist on switching to direct deposit - it's much more reliable. 6. Ask them to confirm whether a debit card was sent and when. 7. If you suspect mail theft, file a report with USPS. 8. Document everything - dates, times, names of who you spoke to. 9. If all else fails, contact your local state representative's office. They can often help push things through. Hang in there! The system is frustrating, but don't give up. You'll get your benefits eventually.

Plot twist: the debit cards are actually being sent to a parallel universe where the PFL system works efficiently 👽🤣

Hey OP, just a heads up - make sure you're super careful about giving out your personal info when you finally get through. There's been a lot of scams lately with people pretending to be from PFL. Always verify who you're talking to!

•Oh wow, I hadn't even thought of that. Thanks for the warning! Any tips on how to verify it's really them?

•No prob! Always call the official number listed on their website, never give out your full SSN over the phone, and if something feels off, trust your gut and hang up. Better safe than sorry!
