PFL application approved but no payments yet - how long did you wait?

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. My paid family leave application was approved this week, but I haven't received any payments yet. The state confirmed they got all my info back in November. Anyone else dealing with this? How long did it take for you to get your first payment after approval?

Congrats on getting approved! šŸŽ‰ It can take a few weeks for the first payment to come through after approval. Have you checked your account online to see if there's any updates?

Same boat here. Approved 3 weeks ago, still no $$$. This waiting game is killing me 😫

Ugh, that sucks guys. Hang in there! Maybe try calling them? I know its a pain but sometimes that's the only way to get answers

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous, we shouldn't have to pay for customer service šŸ™„

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny IMO. They got me through in like 30 mins when I'd been trying for days

Can confirm, used it last week. Felt kinda weird paying but man, the relief of actually talking to a human was worth it

Pro tip: If you haven't already, set up direct deposit. It's way faster than waiting for a check in the mail. Also, double-check that all your info is correct in the system. One typo can hold things up.

Here's what I've learned from my experience and research about PFL payments: • First payment usually takes 2-3 weeks after approval, but can take up to 6 weeks • Make sure your employer submitted all necessary wage info • Check if there are any holidays that might delay processing • If you had State Disability Insurance (SDI) before PFL, it might cause a delay as they transition your claim • Sometimes they require additional info but don't notify you properly. Keep an eye on your online account and mail • If it's been more than 3 weeks, definitely call them. Be persistent! Hope this helps! Hang in there, the system is frustrating but you'll get your money eventually.

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed info! Really appreciate it. I'll definitely keep all this in mind and follow up if it goes past 3 weeks.

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Got approved last Tuesday but still waiting on that first payment. It's so nerve-wracking when you're counting on that money. I've been refreshing my bank account like every hour šŸ˜… From what I'm reading here, sounds like 2-3 weeks is normal but some people wait longer. Really hoping we both get our payments soon! Keep us posted on how it goes.
