Need help preparing for EDD call - any tips?
Hey everyone, I'm calling EDD today and I have some questions I need to ask them. Has anyone had any luck getting through lately? Any tips on what I should prepare before the call? I'm feeling a bit nervous and want to make sure I don't forget anything important.

Good luck getting through! I've been trying for weeks and it's always busy. Make sure you have your claim number and social security number ready. Also, write down all your questions beforehand so you don't forget anything when you finally get someone on the line.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•idk man, paying to get through seems sketchy. Shouldn't this be a free service?

•I get the skepticism, but it honestly saved me so much time and frustration. Worth every penny imo

•How long did you have to wait once they started calling?

•It took about an hour and a half, but I just went about my day and they called me when an agent was on the line. Way better than being stuck on hold myself!

Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. That's how I finally got through after trying for weeks.

•I'm mainly confused about why my claim status hasn't updated in weeks. Also wondering about the work search requirements.

•Oof, the work search requirements are a whole thing. Make sure you're keeping detailed records of everything you apply to!

Here's what you need to know about calling EDD: 1. Be patient. It might take multiple attempts to get through. 2. Have all your info ready: SSN, claim number, employment history, etc. 3. Be clear and concise with your questions. 4. Take notes during the call. 5. Ask for a reference number for the call in case you need to follow up. 6. If you don't understand something, ask them to explain it again. 7. Be polite, even if you're frustrated. The person on the other end is just doing their job. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up if you don't get through on your first try. Good luck!

•The reference number tip is clutch. Saved my butt when I had to call back about an issue.

Has anyone had luck with the online portal? I've been trying to avoid calling if I can help it.

•LOL good luck with that. The online system is about as useful as a screen door on a submarine 🙄
