Need help getting payment info from EDD - Any tips for reaching a real person?

Hey everyone, I need to get some information about my payment. I've been trying to reach someone for days but keep getting stuck on hold. Has anyone had any luck getting through to a real person lately? Any tips or tricks would be appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to get through for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to actually talk to anyone. 🙄

Same here! I swear they must have like 2 people working the phones or something. It's ridiculous.

Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that might help, but idk, haven't had much luck myself.

Yeah, I've tried early morning, late afternoon, even during lunch. No dice. 😫

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

Wow, $20 just to talk to someone? The system is so broken.

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

How long did it take for them to actually connect you?

It took about an hour and a half, but I was able to do other stuff while waiting instead of being stuck on hold myself.

Here's what I've learned after months of dealing with this: 1. Call early in the morning, like right when they open. 2. If you get put on hold, stay on the line no matter what. Sometimes they pick up after an hour or more. 3. Be super nice to the person who answers, even if you're frustrated. They're more likely to help. 4. Have all your info ready before you call so you don't waste time once you get through. 5. If one agent can't help, politely ask to speak to a supervisor. 6. Keep a log of who you talked to and when, in case you need to reference it later. Hope this helps someone! Good luck out there, we're all in this together. 💪

Great advice! I'd add: use the online portal as much as possible before calling. Sometimes you can solve issues there without needing to talk to anyone.

Has anyone tried reaching out on social media? I've heard some people have had luck getting responses that way.

I tried tweeting at them once. They just sent me a link to the FAQ page. 🙄

Facebook messaging worked for me! But it took like 3 days to get a response.

Pro tip: If you have a complex issue, write it down before you call. That way, when you finally get through, you can explain everything clearly without forgetting important details.

This! I always get flustered when I finally talk to someone and forget half of what I wanted to say.

Good advice. I use the Notes app on my phone to keep track of dates, claim numbers, and questions I need to ask.

Anyone else notice that the hold music is like, the same 30 second loop over and over? I swear it's designed to make us hang up 😂

I've started muting it and playing my own music. Much better for my sanity.
