Need advice for SDI appeal status call with EDD - what to ask?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to check on the status of my appeal for SDI. I've got a call scheduled with EDD and I'm not sure what to expect. Anyone have experience with this? What should I ask them? I'm feeling pretty nervous about it.

I've been through this before. Here's what you should do: • Have your appeal case number ready • Gather any letters or emails from EDD • Prepare your ID info Questions to ask: 1. What's the current status? 2. Do they need any more docs from you? 3. How long till you get a decision? After the call, write down what they tell you to do next and do it ASAP. Good luck!

Great advice! I'd add: ask if theres a way to expedite the process. Sometimes they can if you mention financial hardship.

Good point! I forgot about that. Definitely worth a shot if you're in a tight spot.

ugh, good luck. I've been waiting on my appeal for MONTHS. The system is so broken 🤮

have you tried contacting your local rep? sometimes they can light a fire under EDD

Pro tip: I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. Used this site called claimyr.com - it's a calling tool that dials the menu, waits on hold, and then connects you when a real person picks up. Costs $20 but totally worth it. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds sketchy. How does it work exactly?

Not sketchy at all! You just put in your number and they call you when they get an agent. Saved me hours of hold time.

$20? Thats highway robbery 😤

I mean, my time is worth more than sitting on hold all day. To each their own tho 🤷‍♂️

Anyone else feel like were playing phone tag with a ghost? 👻 EDD be like 'new phone who dis' every time I call lmao

Make sure you document EVERYTHING. Names, dates, what was said. EDD loves to 'lose' info.

Good call, I'll definitely do that. Do you think I should record the call too?

Check your state laws first! Some places its illegal to record without consent.

I swear, dealing with EDD is like trying to nail jello to a wall 🤣 Good luck OP!
