EDD using wrong income for SDI calculation - only $64/week?!
Hey everyone, I'm having a problem with my disability payments. They're only giving me $64 a week, which seems way too low. When I checked, it looks like they're saying I only made $1,180 last year, which is totally wrong. I think they might be using just one check from 2023 instead of my full income for 2024. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get this fixed?

Ugh, classic EDD mess-up. 🙄 You need to call them ASAP and get this sorted out. Make sure you have all your income docs ready when you talk to them. Good luck getting through tho, their phone lines are a nightmare!

I had a similar issue last year. Here's what you need to do: 1. Gather all your pay stubs and W-2s for 2024 2. Call EDD and explain the situation 3. Ask them to recalculate your base period using the correct income 4. If they give you trouble, ask to speak to a supervisor 5. Keep detailed notes of every conversation It might take a few tries, but don't give up. They'll eventually fix it and you should get backpay for the difference. Good luck!

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical too but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny tbh

•How long did you have to wait for the call back?

•It took about 2 hours for me, but beats spending all day hitting redial!

This happened to me too! Turns out they were using the wrong social security number 🤦♂️ Double check all your personal info when you talk to them

Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. You might have to try a few days in a row, but that's how I finally got through.

Have you tried contacting your state representative? Sometimes they can help push things through faster with EDD.
