EDD letter for second opinion doctor MIA for over a week - delaying payment. Help!
Has anyone else been waiting forever for a letter to be sent to their new doctor for a second opinion? I've been waiting over a week and neither I nor the doctor's office has received anything. This is holding up my payment and I'm getting really frustrated. I'm thinking about asking if they can fax or email it instead to speed things up. Any advice on how to handle this?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I went through something similar last month. It's like they're living in the stone age or something. Have you tried calling them directly? Sometimes a little pressure can get things moving.

•Pro tip: call first thing in the morning when they open. You might have better luck getting through.

I found a way to get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo.

•How long did it take for them to call you back?

•It took about 2 hours for me, but I've heard it can vary depending on how busy they are. Still beats sitting on hold yourself!

Have you tried faxing the request yourself? Sometimes taking initiative can speed things up. Just make sure to follow up and confirm they received it.

This is why I always keep copies of everything. You never know when you'll need to resend something yourself. Hope you get it sorted out soon, OP!

Dealing with bureaucracy is THE WORST. Hang in there, OP! Maybe try reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help cut through red tape.

Here's what I would do: 1. Call first thing in the morning when they open 2. Ask to speak with a supervisor if the first person can't help 3. Request that they fax or email the letter immediately 4. Get the name and direct number of whoever you speak with 5. Follow up daily until it's resolved 6. If all else fails, contact your local representative Don't give up! The squeaky wheel gets the grease in these situations.

•This is solid advice. I'd add: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every person you talk to, every promise made. It'll help if you need to escalate later.

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes important emails end up there. Just a thought!
