EDD disability claim nightmare: No payments, weird chiropractor assignment, constant calling. Help!
I'm having issues with my EDD disability claim and I'm so frustrated. They keep telling me to go to a chiropractor in a city that's hours away from where I live. Plus, I haven't received any payments and I have to keep calling to ask about it. Has anyone else dealt with this? Am I missing paperwork or something? I haven't received any notices explaining the delay. It's driving me crazy!

Ugh, EDD is such a nightmare! I've been dealing with them for months. Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update stuff there without sending notices.

•Yeah, I've checked online but there's nothing new there. It's like they're ghosting me or something 👻

•Classic EDD move. They're probably drowning in paperwork and your stuff got lost in the shuffle. Keep calling!

•Oof, that sucks. Maybe try reaching out to your local assembly member? They sometimes can help push things along.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

•I was skeptical too, but it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of hold time. Worth it IMO.

•Idk man, seems kinda sketchy. Has anyone else tried this?

•I used it last week and it worked great. Got through to an agent in like 30 mins instead of waiting all day.

About the chiropractor thing - that's weird AF. I've never heard of EDD assigning specific doctors, especially not ones so far away. Are you sure you're reading the info right?

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every online update. Keep a log. 2. Call EDD first thing in the morning, right when they open. You're more likely to get through. 3. Ask specifically about missing paperwork. Sometimes they need additional forms but don't tell you. 4. Question the chiropractor assignment. That's not normal and could be a mistake in their system. 5. If you can't get answers, contact your state representative or senator. They have liaisons who can help with EDD issues. 6. Check your spam folder regularly. Sometimes important emails end up there. 7. Join Facebook groups for CA EDD claimants. They often have good tips and updates. Hang in there! The system is broken, but persistence usually pays off.

Have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds ancient, but sometimes that gets faster results than mailing or uploading online.

•Faxing? What year is it, 1995? 😂 But seriously, I'll give it a shot if it might help. Thanks for the tip!

•No joke, faxing saved my claim. EDD is stuck in the stone age, might as well join em
