EDD claim not updated after doctor sent extension forms. No benefits since December. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I had surgery recently and my doctor sent in the extension forms for my claim to be extended for a couple more years. The problem is, nothing's been updated online and I haven't gotten any benefits since mid-December. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get them to update my claim status?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The system is so broken rn. Have you tried calling them? That's usually the best way to get things sorted out, even though it's a total pain.

I've been trying to call for days but can never get through. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I usually have better luck getting through that way.

I had a similar issue last year. Here's what worked for me: 1. Keep calling every day. It sucks, but persistence pays off. 2. Send a follow-up email with scanned copies of your extension forms. 3. Reach out to your local representative's office. They can sometimes help push things through. 4. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and any reference numbers you get. 5. If all else fails, file an appeal. It's a hassle, but it can light a fire under them. Hang in there, OP. The system is a mess, but don't give up!

Have you checked your mail carefully? Sometimes they send important updates through snail mail and it's easy to miss.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken.

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

How long did you have to wait after using the service?

It took about 2 hours, but I just went about my day and they called me when an agent was on the line. Way better than being stuck to my phone all day.

The whole system is a joke. They probably lost your paperwork. Wouldn't be the first time 🙄
