SDI claim extension submitted months ago, no updates or payments since. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm really frustrated. My doctor submitted an extension for my disability claim back in October, but I haven't received any updates or payments since then. It's been months now, and I'm starting to worry. Has anyone else experienced long delays like this? Any advice on how to check the status or speed things up?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been in the same boat for what feels like forever. Have you tried calling them? It's a nightmare to get through, but sometimes it's the only way to get answers.

I've tried calling so many times, but I always get stuck on hold for hours and then get disconnected. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I managed to get through after only 30 minutes on hold that way.

I had a similar issue last year. Turns out they 'lost' my paperwork. Keep calling and don't give up! Also, try reaching out to your local representative. They can sometimes help speed things up.

This is why the system is so messed up. They make it impossible to get help when you need it most. I swear they do this on purpose to discourage people from claiming benefits. 🤬

Preach! 🙌 The whole system needs an overhaul. It's like they're stuck in the stone age or smthn

Let's not jump to conclusions. The system is overloaded, especially since the pandemic. They're probably doing their best with limited resources.

Hey, I found a method to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The service should be free!

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me so much time and stress. Worth every penny imo

Can confirm, I used it too. Got through in like 2 hours instead of days of trying.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and any correspondence you receive. 2. Send a written request for a status update via certified mail. This creates a paper trail. 3. Contact your state representative or senator. They often have liaisons who can intervene on your behalf. 4. If you're facing financial hardship due to the delay, make sure to mention this in your communications. Sometimes this can expedite the process. 5. Consider filing a complaint with the state insurance commissioner if the delay is excessive. 6. Join online forums or Facebook groups dedicated to disability claims. Sometimes you can get insider tips from people who've been through the process. 7. If all else fails, consult with a disability attorney. Many offer free consultations. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up!

I did check, but there's nothing new there either. It's like my claim is stuck in limbo or something.

Not to be that person, but are you sure your doctor actually submitted the extension? I thought mine had, but it turned out there was a miscommunication and they never sent it in. Might be worth double-checking!
